Why did Conor wallop Alvarez but struggle vs Nate?

Most of the division's elite handedly beats Nate Diaz but has a very difficult, violent fight against Eddie Alvarez. Conor made Alvarez look like a joke but had the fight of his life against the much more mediocre Nate Diaz.

Conor landed some great combos on Nate and put him down a few times early. He didn't follow him to the ground for GnP like he did with Eddie.

Also, it was at 170lbs. Diaz is much harder to finish at that weight.

IF they fight again at 155lbs, conor should finish him
