I know people are going to think but hey he was a draw and I agree he was a draw but sometimes there is huge downside to something that can be on the upside real quickly and then everything falls apart and imo thats how the Conor McGregor Experience was for the UFC and generally MMA in my opinion.

The sport have lost alot in my opinion due to Conor's arrival. It became a circus and lost what made people love the legit'ness of the fighters and the sport itself. It lost that mystic and mane of glory.

It truly became a freakshow where handpicking became outspread and considered good nowadays and also ducking is considered righteous nowadays. It seems like the sport got inflated with Pro wrestling antics.

Pre-Conor The UFC was doing fantastic and hitting the +1mio PPV sales and in fact had better PPV sales overall.

The UFC had multiple mega-stars so they could rotate and they were respected by the MMA community and casual fans and viewed as one of the baddest men on the plante and rightly so but since Conor came things changed and the mystic is gone because it became inflated and it has gone circus. It truly destroyed the mane of glory fighters use to have as a whole.

Couture, Fedor, Jones, GSP, Liddell, Nick Diaz, Lesnar etc etc these were the true stars and in that era there were bad guys like Josh Kos, Serra, Rampage etc etc but they never went full circus and became full retarded.

MMA is first and foremost legit competition aka sport and right now it's jumping off that ship into something completely different and soon enough we will get fixed and staged fights etc etc. We are almost there and the reason why the PPV is doing bad nowadays is the continuous ducking and handpicking fights etc etc divisions getting butchered.

It will take long time before the UFC can return to it's glory status. They went full circus and it really did some unrepairable damage for the long term and might take a decade or 2 before things are back up again.

Rules to follow to avoid this.

1. Do never force anyone on people and never play god meaning let a fighter rise through his talent and destiny. Just like How Fedor, Jones, GSP etc etc became dominant Champs because they were never being feed easy competition or anything it just happened because it was bound to happen.

2. I honestly believe Khabib could have been one of these fighters but they used his entire prime on keeping him on the bench so Conor could shine. I think people would have liked Khabib more because his not fake good. 'HIS real basically'' He kicks ass and is the best LW in the world at the moment. His not fabricated hype nor did he got his opponents hand-picked for him.

We as viewers sometimes just ask for ''real things'' this is as simple as that.

3. The competition, Sportsmanship and MMA as sport is in critical situation and the PPV crisis reflects on this.

I'm not reading all of that, but I wouldn't say he's the worst thing, but is definitely toxic for the sport.

Conor is a once in a lifetime athlete bro

The problem is that it could be quite a while before a star rises through talent and destiny. Thus the UFC has to create their own and give them opportunities.

Khabib would been champ over 4 years ago if he didn't get injured so much. It is his own doing.

The 'PPV crisis' is so overdramatic. UFC can continue the same way as 2017 for years to come with a mega-event every once in a while.

conor helped the fertittas scam wme for 4 billion

What the fuck are you talking about? Nobody kept Khabib on the bench but himself. If he wasn't stubbing his toe for an injury he was overeating tiramisu and missing weight.

I don't see them surviving with these numbers except PME taking losses all the time. They might pull the plug at sometime down the line.

Khabib has had injuries but when healthy still he got matched up with opponents who was far below his level in an era where everyone knew he was the best.

Seemed legit until TS started talking about talent, without mentioning the most talented, prolific striker in MMA.

Haters and fanboys should all be put into a room and bea each others until the need to make shitty threads vanishes

You are wrong with pretty much everything you said.

UFC was not getting great PPV numbers not even close.

CIrcus? what fucking circus are you talking about, Conor came of the scene vs Brimmage and gained some attention with a nice KO over a quality (not great opponent), in his second fight he takes on Max and dominates all 3 round of that fight...Max has not lost since,,but haters believe Max got better overnight.

Then he destroys Brandao, Poirier and Siver with ease...he had difficulty with defending the Mendes TD but Mendes wasnt able to do shit with it...even before he gassed, Conor was calm and composed the entire fight...then everyone bashes him stating Aldo is the stop sign...Conor is going to get exposed etc...then he fucking ends Aldo in 13 seconds! Everyone still hates on him. Then he fights the super tough Diaz and loses...then again and wins...both in highly entertaining fights, but is still hated on....then he fights another stop sign in Eddie at least according to haters...and absolutely destroys and embarrasses Eddie...he is not even going to mention how he was slotted to fight RDA (meaning not dodging) before he took the short notice fight vs Diaz....

I do agree that since he beat Alvarez that the man has gone overboard with his money loving and flaunting BS and has chosen to avoid signing a fight contract in the uFC....but wtf are you talking about with this circus shit...his rise to the belts was unlike any other spectacle in MMA before!

Sorry all got into this one lol.

Hate freakshow circus promotions? You must also hate pride.

Pride going under was the worst thing giving the UFC a monopoly.

Conor was pretty bad though.

I dont get how anyone thinks Conor beating Max, Jose, Eddie, Dustin, Diaz etc is a circus lol. The May/Mac ordeal I can see but everything prior? you have to be a imbecile to think that.

UFC had better PPV sales overall due to having many draws and multiple stars and they just use to rotate them back then. The numbers were good.

Most of his fights were low-key except 2 weeks notice Mendes and fluke Aldo win. Lost to Nate twice. Stopped by +40 year old guy who has been retired for years. The entire Mcgregor show was a fraud and never to forget the ever ending ducking he did to Aldo after coming of a fluke win and with Ferguson it even gets worse

I will never understand why people want MMA to be the NFL. It's prize fighting, it will never, and has never been a "legit" sport in the way a lot of you dorks seem to want it to be.
