Why complain that work = modern day slavery?

It's almost like they're living in a completely different economy. Because they come from a collectivist culture and don't mind cramming 12 people in a 2 bedroom apartment.

They're better at managing resources and combining effort. That doesn't mean the situation isn't fucked up.
The Chinese and Indians do the same in Australia.

There is nothing immoral about engaging in free trade and commerce. It's the most moral and compassionate thing you can do in life.
Not the way I see it. I see capilasm as conning one person to sell something to you for less, and convincing someone else to pay you more. Merchants don't actually do anything useful they just con all those that do.

The whole system is fundamentally built around lying. They certainly don't advertise that those $150 designer jeans actually cost $3 to make in China.

We literally are modern day slaves. We are born into systems that we have no control over. We are forced to work 40 hours a week to survive. We work 25-40 years of our lives just to afford a place to live, built with cheap materials like drywall. Every aspect of this world is designed to suck you dry.

Where do you live? There's plenty of places even in the US where anyone can live comfortably off part-time work. Rural Ohio is one example (lived there for 5 years).

In the slave factorys in caucasus/central asia where they make bricks they take your documents away and watch that you dont run.

They do feed you ok and let you have shower and sleep in a bed.

Thats what i heard

Canada. You can not live in my city with only part time work, the rent prices are far too high.

Commerce is the cornerstone of civilization and everything good we experience today is a direct result of it.

Here is life before commerce.

Jeff makes shoes but has no food and is hungry

Brida has food but no house

Sam has a house but no shoes and food etc

Multiple this 100x in complexity and welcome to "bartering"

Capitalism and commerce allows these people to trade the value of their labor so that they can buy the value of someone else's labor.

There is literally nothing more pure than free trade. To make money, you need to provide a good or service that others consider valuable enough to trade their labor for. You then buy other goods and services that you deem valuable.

It's everything else that gets in the way of free trade that is the problem (taxes, regulations etc)

I didn't get rich scamming anyone. I provided immense value to possibly thousands of potentially millions of people.

You are wrong or just a dirty socialist.

Nothing is more honest. Person 1 creates a good or service and displays the price that they are selling it for. Person B can then decide if they wish to freely engage in commerce with this person and if they seem the product or service of value, they will purchase it. If not, they won't.

How the product or service is made is completely irrelevant. There is no lying or con.

Don't want to pay their price? Good news! You are also completely free to engage in commerce too and create the product or service for yourself. You can also choose to engage with someone else.

Restaurant too dear? Cook at home

Brand clothes too experience? Buy some cloth and learn to sew

Need a computer built? Buy the parts and build it yourself.

Etc

Keep telling yourself that. Your smart enough to know otherwise. When the producers have to make a living and the merchants control the market, people sell you whatever they can get for it. We just watched deregulation destroy the dairy industry in Australia. We are also witnessing the privatisation of water. What is the point of even paying taxes if the government can't provide water and grubby merchants get a corner on the one thing we can't live without.

Thats what i heard

From what I hear, brick makers in India and Pakistan also use lots of slave labor.

Just seems random. Fucking brick makers, of all people.

Yep, ancient history was all about female led socialism. Jesus was also black and we was kangz

Robust scholarship has proven false the idea that as a rule early human societies had a barter economy. See also the excerpt I posted above from Karl Polanyi. It's common knowledge for anybody who studied the subject a bit. A barter economy is simply a myth that is perpetuated to support the idea that "markets" are the natural order of things, and not a construct. See also this paper that was quoted in the Atlantic piece: https://www.jstor.org/stable/2802221?seq=1
