It depends on my Depends.

Without an ID, couldn't somebody easily vote multiple times by just claiming they were different people at different polling stations? Of course they'd have to claim they were people who didn't already vote, or were not going to vote, but that wouldn't be hard to do. Not requiring an ID would also allow any illegal immigrant to vote as well. I mean, is getting an ID really that hard?

What's all the fuss about?

It’s an opportunity to scream RACIST! Democrats love that shit. It’s like oxygen to them.

But of course, the real racism is their own belittling position that minorities are incapable of acquiring IDs. It’s utterly ridiculous.

The absence of voter ID laws leads to massive fraud, and one side wants that in order to secure the Presidency. It's funny that they scream that voter ID laws are racist, but are perfectly fine with ID's being mandatory to fly, or drive, or even getting a job. But somehow those laws aren't considered racist. We live in an absolute clown world right now.

Everyone should just be able to use their Social Security Number. You get one at birth as a citizen or when you become one. If you lose it, you can get a replacement online or over the phone.

Lol, obviously it has nothing to do with IDs. If it did, they would be arguing about subsidizing IDs, but instead they argue that people shouldn't have to prove they are who they say they are, that they're citizens, and that they're voting in the correct state because it's entirely about making fraud easier. Their current stance is that blacks shouldn't be allowed to drive cars, have jobs, collect any benefits, buy a gun, board an airplane, enter public buildings, buy alcohol, have a bank account, rent or purchase a home, or anything else that requires a valid ID, but should be able to vote a bunch of times? Is this thing on?

I'd be all for voter id requirements if states actually made getting licenses easy and having enough locations for people to get to easily. When states pass these voter id laws and then after start closing ID license centers right after is when its complete bullshit and obviously voter suppression.

You must show official id to vote where I am. There is a wide range of acceptable IDs. Nobody sees that as controversial in any way. In fact being able to vote without identifying who you are is weird.

We don't have racist gerrymandering in my country (though they practice US style gerrymandering in the north but on sectarian lines.) And we don't have people struck off the register if they are a felon or for other bullshit reasons.

The scam that is pulled in Ireland is Postal voting. Postal voting is legal here like the US but you need to have your request verified in an Irish police station. The request only stands for one election and they send out the verification forms a few days before the actual vote.

With 5 million population and 70 million people in your dispora the politicians that caused that to happen sure don't want ex-pat citizens expressing their disapproval at the ballot box.

There’s no fuss. The left are brainwashed idiots lying their way through almost everything they say. It’s getting disgusting.

Then who’s going to save us.. Republican politicians? OH SHIT...

Maybe the country should issue a federal ID for citizens, and make it accessible. Not everyone has a driver's license or a passport.
Non drivers licenses at the DMV, but expand it to be obtained at the Post Office. Every city, town, and village have post offices. Heck, it's where you get your passport.

Have you ever voted? Doesn't seem like you know how it works.

The point of raising ID standards is just to make it less likely that some people will vote. It's not an effort to address a real problem, and attempts to address "concern" without reducing turnout (for example, automatic registration, free picture IDs + picture ID requirements) are always rejected by people pretending to be concerned with security.

Pretty sure there's never been anyone who has held the position that minorities are incapable of acquiring IDs. When you can't make your point without obvious lies, you should consider the possibility that it's wrong.

What if Democrats were as corrupt as Republicans, and pushed for laws stating that polling stations can only be in places with a certain density (say with the argument that it saves money or that there is more fraud in rural areas)? People would rightly complain that that makes voting onerous for rural voters and would reduce their turnout. Would any Democrats be dishonest enough to say, "Oh, so you're saying that rural voters are too stupid to find a way to travel four hours to a polling station? I guess we just have more confidence in them."?
