That is sad. I mean I personally would walk miles and swim through rivers to exercise my right to vote, but obviously you will get an effect with those considering whether to vote at all.

Reducing voting locations is almost criminal. You should make voting as easy as possible (except the ID thing - I fully am in the ID camp).

I think voting should as easy as possible and that includes lots of different ID options.

But more locations means less need for ID laws. I voted in a location and never presented ID because it's local to me and the people know me. I've worked polling stations and don't need to ask for ID from everyone because I know these people on a first name basis. Fewer locations means that the people working the voting locations don't know the people showing up and so greater need for verification of identities.

those man on the street interviews are real and they don't have to interview 20 people to find 1 or 2 that don't even know who the vice president is

hell look at this board, there's a percentage of people that don't even know how the electoral college works....and these guys are trying to pay attention. the majority of people do not follow politics, find it boring or frustrating to the point they can't keep up to speed

that is the fault of the 2 party system. if you had more voters you could have more parties. should have more parties, anyways.

ppl talk of the "silent majority" very often but the real silent majority are the ppl that dont vote every election.

As far as your heir of superiority and looking down on others. you are either for democracy and the founding fathers ideals or you are not. Voting is a civic duty, is it not?? Most ppl dont seem to take it that way or be too concerned with helping others perform this duty. The gov could do all kinds of things to make it easier to vote.

I live in a city with more than 500k people and have never encountered a line on election day. It just seems like things are set up to be difficult on purpose.

Like I said though - if you take it seriously, you will walk miles to vote.
