You think humans were around when the Black and Mediterranean Sea were created?
Yeah, it wasn't even all that long ago.
I looked it up a while back.
If you start looking up the historical events the bible references you start realizing that it's just part of an extremely old oral tradition. The same with all sorts of fairy tales and such.
They layer stories so one story might be referencing the recent events, for the bible, then other events that are even older sometimes going back over 10,000 plus years. They combine elements of those different events into one story with a common sort of lesson, if you will, regarding those types of events.
It's the same with other old stories from other cultures too.
The four horseman of the apocalypse and the centaurs from greek mythology are talking about the same group of people for example.
EDIT: ok, not the mediteranean sea, I just looked it up, but the black sea yes. Same with a drastic level in sea rise that occurred at the end of the last ice age.
Look, I get it, you mention bible and people want to completely dismiss you. Look into it though. The events in history that science is revealing and then you see it. All of it is there and you can see why they tell the stories the way they do. Because history tends to repeat itself given enough time and then the new story just gets layered over the old one. Or the old ones just get woven into the new one.
Then once you can kind of see how they weave the stories you can relate it to other times in history with common elements and how people felt in that time about a particular thing and it shines a light back onto the older story.
