Depends on where you live.
Have an ex in Minnesota did not see many pools there. And the winter sure beat our down here.
I did see a ton of Trespassing signs everywhere.
I think its nice to be able to walk in the woods ore biking on a gravel road with out risking to get shot or yelled at.

I get more than 6 weeks of paid vacation a year plus paid sick days. I'm also in a trades union and we have to kill someone to get fired. Our pensions a subject of envy for a lot of people when the subject is discussed. Not to mention matching 401k on top of that. I'm also going abroad to work in Germany, to help pay off my bank loan that I took out so I could rebuild my mom's house, and also sent some money from it to my wife's sister, so she could Land on her feet in the USA

I'm actually pondering, whether to move permanently or not. I even acquired the citizenship, just in case.

It really depends on my wife. She'll start her final year of University this fall, and if she finds a decent Job after that, I'll stay, but if she'll have to sweep floors for a living, we'll leave, fuck that.

My sister lives in Scandinavia. They have 2 cars, 3 houses and 1 vacation home in Spain.

Not representative of everyone, but also far from uncommon.

People somehow think we don't have wealthy people here. The middle class lives comfortably and upper class lives very well. Things are moving fast, but in the 2015 Forbes list both Norway, Iceland and Sweden had more billionaires per capita than the US, with Denmark and Finland not far behind. They are just not as obscenely rich here. GDP per capita also ranks up there just below or above the US, depending on the country, which is pretty crazy considering our gini-koefficients are amongst the lowest in the world, meaning we have the least amount of economic inequality.

Yeah that video is pretty good. Obviously it's done through the eyes of foreigners so they might not know the variety in society as much, but it does cover some of the basics pretty well. Also Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland all have their own versions of the nordic model, but there's no doubt that a lot of the fundamentals are similar. The people however don't like to be associated with each other too much, probably stems from all the wars we had with each other.

Lol, there's an episode of Brooklyn 99 in which two Swedish detectives from Interpol visit the 99 to work a case of international diamond theft/smuggling. The two Swedes are highly efficient, intelligent, friendly, polite and gorgeous. The woman tells the American that she and her partner speak several languages apart from their native tongue, including English, French and German,

"But not Danish, because that is a garbage language spoken by garbage people!"

In America the Left have created a whiny complaining culture that never existed like it has now. Unless everything is exactly how they want it, "the system is broken", "Lets march and burn things". They are all for cancel culture. If you get them out of the equation the happiness rate would increase, because they do not want happiness. They want to bitch and complain.
Its funny because I have Nordic heritage. My family is all blonde blue eyed, Irish/Viking Americans. And all the family we meet frm Scandinavia , they never are really THAT friendly. They are nice, but not real affectionate, dont laugh much or smile. But very pleasant and nice. In NY we are big huggers and kissers...NOT them. But I will tell you that they are grateful for a bowl of soup and a piece of bread. We had a large spread once and they were not into that.
