Why are rounds 4 and 5 referred to as championship rounds?

When a guy dominates the whole ten minutes of those latter 2 rounds and still doesn't get awarded the victory...

Makes no sense. Maybe if Jan had dominated the first 3 rounds, he could have an arguement. But he didn't.

What happened last night with Ankalaev (and Gordon for that matter) is a black eye(s) for the sport and specifically the UFC.

Because championship fights are 5 rounds. Regular fights are 3. That makes round ls 4 and 5 championship rounds.

lol at everyone tryna be a smart ass to divert attention away from the real issue at hand.

you deserve the championship belt if you dominate all ten minutes of the championship rounds.

most times they are treated how you just described. jon jones/reyes. Mighty mouse vs Jon dodson, Jon jones vs Gus.

these fights the champion either lost the first 3, or could/should have lost the first 3. but because they won the last two rounds, they get the fight. its part of where "you gotta beat the champ" even comes from in mma.

now uncle iev imo wasnt jobbed. he could have lost round 1. but because he won the last 2 big, you feel he got robbed because thats the way it normally gos. right or wrong

Why do you deserve the belt for getting your ass beat for 15 minutes but finally waking up to do your job for 10?

Most champions can only count to five. I blame the schools.

What if I told you there was no Champion...

So the first three rounds don't matter? No, you have to win the fight. Dominating the championship rounds does not guarantee victory.

By TS logic, in a 5 round fight you should do nothing for rounds 1, 2, and 3 because only champion rounds count.
What a dumbass

You might as well walk around with a sign that says STUPID with an arrow pointing to your head, because you make it that obvious.

If that's your point why didn't you just write it like that? You're calling people smartasses when you were the one hiding your actual point behind a stupid question, which is what smartass truly mean.

So if i understand correctly, you want the championship rounds to be scored differently than all the other rounds?

They're being smart asses because you are being a smart ass. Flew right over your head but I caught it for you.
