Why are so many rasslers small and have a limited athletic background? That used to not be the case. It's not just steroids. So many short skinny people in wrestling now.

Why so many F level athletes?

Because all the nerds that watched wrestling during the 90s, were the only ones that actually decided to be wrestlers.
The alpha athletes probably thought it was too stupid and worked construction instead.

MMA got more popular and the opportunities to make money drove many people who in the past would be pro wrestlers into MMA.

Different era. There is an outlet for the smaller guys, but clearly WWE/WWF historically hasn't been it. AEW is a different product and smaller works there. NXT was similar, different rosters and when they start being themselves and providing their individual products separately we'll all be happier. WWE land of the giants with a fist full of anomalies, and places like, but not limited to, AEW, a place for high workrate high risk stiffer stuff oriented towards super involved wrestle nerds.

Yeah I'm sorry but a good chuck of these big and muscular guys are garbage in the ring. These smaller indie wrestlers come equip with more than 5 moves and perform much better in the ring.

Many of them don't want to take Mexican supplements

So you get a lot of Orange Cassidy bodies

My guess is that steriods are ileagal now? And smaller wrestlers did change the game, can go back to Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels.

Not to mention Vince was responsible for giant men with shitty wrestling being the norm.
Bruno Sammartino 5’10
Pedro Morales 5’10
Bob Backlund 6’1
Flair 6’1
Dusty Rhodes 6’2
Harley Race 6’1
Verne Gagne 5’11
then Hulkamania 6’5

As for the builds, also look at trends. Before the WWF Hulk era they had more of a power lifter broad shoulders and barrel chest loo. Then Vince made it into a body builder look being the thing. Now it seems like having a six pack and being built like a movie star is the look. I may be off, just seems like what I have seen.

I'm not against smaller guys...but for fuck sake...if you're a smaller guy can you at least look like you've seen a gym once in a while.

Absolutely, and nothing against Chad but people gotta be somewhat realistic. Seeing Chad work much bigger guys over when they let him get his spots in, you see his inhuman strength and mastery of leverage and hip power, this ends up looking really weird when he can toss guys around easy, unfortunately there's just so much your roster you invested in can give a guy of Gables size without killing legitimacy of your roster!

Size matters for more reasons than just how fair it seems or some meritocracy mentality where we feel a need to reward people for how underutilized we percieved them to be.

I've been getting flack for this opinion but I just think there's places for the little guys and places for the rarer A level big guys. Chad is perfect being almost like Otis' wrestling coach/tinkerbell.

WWE most recent signings which includes Bobby Stevenson, the Uso’s younger brother and Bull Buchanan’s son look more like 90’s wrestlers. It’s obvious they spend time in the gym.

Same with MMA, everyone is so small now, especially the Americans. I saw some wrestling not too long ago and I was shocked at how small everyone is, they are like teenage boys, same with most UFC fighters, they are comically small in person
