So why are commentators so afraid to call out the obvious when it’s right in front of our face? Meanwhile boxing commentators have no problem criticizing the decisions, fouls, refs, etc… I’m no fan of smith but how many shots to the back of the head does he have to take and the commentators act like they don’t see anything.

Boxing is real.

Mma is an in-house club where we act like it’s bigger than it is

“He’s covered in blood and leaving like that is just as good “ wtf he’s concussed

herzog is a clown for doing nothing about those back of the head shots, and they were literal full power elbows to the back of the head, that's how someone gets badly hurt

Commentators for UFC events are UFC employees, they are given a leash of what they can say and are guided in their ear pieces on speaking points and what to say. It's like the rankings by the "media outlets" were given guides on how to rank fighters by the UFC every time before they voted rankings.

Boxing as more independent journalist, commentators and analysts. UFC is kinda a joke.

One of them mentioned that right before the stoppage, but be for real. When was the last time Anthony Smith did not turtle up in a fight?

Not saying smith is Lionheart, he folds every fight just about… but I think it was Felder after the call he fell in line like a company man and didn’t say anything as the replay clearly showed Smith taking them to the back of the head.

Atleast 1 maybe 2 were clear back of the head. But in instances like this where the guy is basically seconds away to getting finished and is turtling up some shots are going to land in the wrong place. Basically those shots in the back of the head altho dangerous really didn't affect the outcome of the fight.
