Who's the best Polynesian/Pacific Islander fighter in MMA right now?

Molokai boy here, I'm hoping some of our fighters here make it big sometime soon. Eldon "Sale" Sproat (competed on TUF) was well on his way for a while but has hit a rough spot. We have a few more guys here too, including my cousin, who has 2 amateur belts to his name. Regardless, I cheer for all Polynesians!! (even though I'm pure filipino lol)

Edit: Molokai is an island in Hawaii, btw

what is munoz? i always thought he was just filipino.

I hosted two tongan kids who were out here for a rugby tournament for a week, apart from eating EVERYTHING I put in front of them these two 16 year olds were 6 foot plus about 270 pounds ripped and ran like the wind
Yes, they're usually not shredded but they have ridiculously thick builds

Mark Hunt wouldn't be considered abnormally big among them

Yea thick but more defined than the regular tongan.. to me they looked lean, they were from a boarding school in new zeland AND playing for the first XV so their diet was pretty strict, which is why they ate everything I put in front of them... I think.

Maybe the ice cream cake was a bit much of a welcoming desert though...

For the sake of clarity, this thread is about who you think is the best Pacific Islander/Polynesian MMA fighter by blood

Went to Cook Islands and NZ earlier this year, there was some big mofos roaming around. Them islanders and maoris are built like tanks.

As for the question, I think Hunt is the best ATM.

Think this needed to be said quite early, before everyone got upset over BJ

Being part native Hawaiian has meaning to those who are. Those who are not, yet are born and raised in the culture have every right to represent Hawaii. However do not claim to be Hawaiian please. I don't know anyone born and raised in Hawaii who claims to be Hawaiian when in fact they are not. Its just something that people from the mainland like to call all of us here. "Oh you're from Hawaii then you're Hawaiian Oooooo"

Idk if BJ is or is not, but if he is not he shouldn't claim to be so.

Tangent succeeded.

I don't know that many pure blood Polynesian/Pacific Islander fighters, so I would say Hunt. Hawaiians sure love fighting, but it is one state where no race is majority due to multiple ethnicity backgrounds. The Japanese and the Filipinos are somewhat majority on the island, along with haoles (Caucasians mainly). But a lot of Hawaiians are also from the Chinese and Portuguese background.

Yep, if you watch rugby a lot of Islanders are big boys, athletic too. For example, this guy is 22 years old, 6 foot 1, 247lbs and quick as fuck.

Lol. Try being in cali. Where any one whos tan is a mexican. Doesn't matter if yyou have no hispanic features people just assume your mexican or sometimes asian lol. Story of my life.

I am not sure of any Polynesians in the NFL,NBA etc but traditionally in rugby the real money only came into the sport within the last 10 years, especially the players making + 1 million dollars in a season.

In comparison to how much MMA pay has grown in the years it's been around to ratio with rugby (rugby being +100 years old and MMA traditionally 20 years old) the growth has been exceptional for MMA.

Lol wot? Never heard of troy polumalu? Or manti te'o? Or junior seau??!! (Rip)
