Romero was originally supposed to fight Rockhold, then he was suspended
Weidman was originally supposed to fight Rockhold, then he was injured.
Jacare is coming off a recent win over Belfort.


But 6 months from now.........

Romero will be suspension free
Weidman will be injury free
Jacare will be english free


So who's the real #1 contender?

Undefeated at MW, 7-0, 5 of the most brutal knockouts. 3 straight top 10 wins including 2 top 3-5 wins. Two top 15 wins in Tavares and Brunson.
 
I´d say Rockhold, Weidman, Jacare.
But perhaps let Jacare fight Bisping and Weidman & Rockhold fight for the next chance, as they were going to fight before Bisping replaced them.
Would makes sense and be fair to Jacare, Bisping doesnt matter he fights whoever. And Rockhold/Weidman is pretty much both the same place now.
 
No no no MMAth determines Hendo is already MW champ.
 
Jacare, 9-1 with 4 top wins and coming off a brutal top 5 win. The lone loss being an arguable draw.

Don't give a fighter a title shot coming off of a USADA suspension imo.

IMO Clearly Jacare.
He was before Weidman.
He was after ROmero (He won that fight IMO)
He was AFTER Romero was suspended.
He was AFTER Weidman got sick

and now that Bisping is the champion, Weidman does not need the rematch.
Luke was not long enough to warrant an instant rematch
Romero is still out

Jacare just won against Vitor.
 
Weird question. Weidman was the #1 contender and only did not fight in this card because of injury. He has 3 title defenses and one loss, he's clearly the #1 contender. It can't be anything else but Weidman vs. Bisping for Bispings first title defense. His last one too of course.

Rockhold can fight Jacare or Romero to get back on to #1 contender since he lost his first title defense.
 
It's obviously Romero.

He was promised the next shot, he's on a 7 fight win streak, and he's coming off a win over the only other guy that should be in this conversation.

Weidman lost the belt, and hasn't done anything since. He's in the same boat as Rockhold right now.

This, although I think there is a strong case for Jacare. No way Romero comes off a suspension and gets a title shot.
 
It's either Romero or Jacare. Both guys have impressive wins in their resumes and fought to a razor thin decision head to head.

UFC might pull a fast one and book a Silva rematch though.
