Who's better: Bret Hart or Kurt Angle

It was certainly great, definitely one of my favourites. That and Misawa/Kobashi from the same year made 2003 an awesome one.

Bret could have been an Olympic wrestler too. But there’s no money in amateur wrestling so he made the smart move to go pro

I doubt Bret could have been an Olympic wrestler , and on top of that Canadian amateur wrestling is nowhere near the American level. Kurt in my opinion is clearly a better wrestler and character . He is more versatile. Bret was good but also overrated

I made a thread about this a while ago.

On overall range with in ring work, character/promos and all around versatility: Angle may be the GOAT, I say that as a huge Bret mark. Bret's better in the ring, Rock is better on the mic, Stone Cold, Taker, and several others have better characters.

Prime Angle had no limits on his range of abilities. He may not be the GOAT at any one aspect, but he was certainly a Master of them all.

I'd be interested to see who everyone thinks was better on the mic and in character: Angle or HBK

Angle, easily. And I’m fans of both guys. But I never viewed Brett as a particularly good promo; he was fine at it, but did better saying little and having a mouthpiece IMO. Angle was a good promo, and had such a range. I always preferred his “Wrestling Machine” gimmick to his early type of gimmick, but he played all of them very well. Could have excellent comedic timing and be goofy, but still felt like a dangerous threat in the ring.

Bret was pretty vanilla
Angle was fascinating, badass, hilarious. One of the best personalities they've had.

Bret as a heel could go on the mic. Even in WCW which wasn’t a good run for him, he still cut some great promos when he was fired up. To think what could have been, but WCW was as political as you can get.

In ring Angle. Was more agile and explosive and just as technical. The picture perfect moonsaults or sprinting to a guy on the top rope to belly to belly him across the ring. He did things Brett couldn’t.

In terms of mic work I always thought Brett was pretty dull growing up. I had the cool shades but as a personality I thought he didn’t really cut it. I remember him being a better heel to be fair but Angle was both brilliant as a Face and Heel. He was funny and could play crazy trying to snap and ankle.

Angle takes this. For me he’s possibly the most complete wrestler ever.

Hart had a cool persona, but he really couldn’t talk for shit. He couldn’t come up with something better for Lawler than “the Burger King”? Cmon son.
