Who's better: Bret Hart or Kurt Angle

Bret vs Angle would have been an amazing match though. Bret even talked one of dream matches would be against Angle.

I was more entertained by Kurt and enjoyed him in the ring more, although that's by a razor-thin margin.

Bret was the bigger star. And is now an old sourpuss.

I'll take Kurt but expect most to pick Bret.

Angle is definitely in my top 10 favorite matches all time, maybe more than once, whereas I’m not sure Brett would appear in my top 10 at all. Bret-Austin might be there.
Anyhow, I became a fan of pro wrestling as a little kid in the mid 80s, and watched into the early 00s. So it’s not an issue of recency bias for me, I love both Bret and Angle and have seen tons of their matches. It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Angle is better.

This interview alone is gold. You can tell how full of shit he is with how much he fidgets and scratches.

I enjoyed Kurt in ring style much more, and thought he was way more entertaining in promos and vignettes. I will admit that I've always been partial to the guys who worked that hybrid folk style & catch more than any other type of worker.

When you factor overall character range/promos in along with in ring talent it's Angle. Kurt could do comedy one month and be a badass the next and would be totally over. Heel or Face didn't matter.
