Re-watching their fight, it was fucking awesome. Nick Diaz was very mobile, taunting the shit out of Robbie, threw low kicks, spinning shit, side kicks, he even shoot for a double once and got Robbie in a thai clinch and threw some knees. He was fighting with his hands down and no defense at all most of the time, almost like Anderson. i think it was the last time Nick fought so loose and diverse like that.

When is Nick fighting again ? Will he come back ? If he got a shot at Lawler you think he'd beat him again ?

That fight was freaking awesome. If you re-watch the fight, at the 3:50 mark of the second round you guys can hear a gem from Rogan and Goldberg too. Make it happen Dana.

I would love to know where Nick's head is at nowadays regarding the rest of his fighting career. He seems more interested in triathlons, cycling, and cornering Nate lately.

Lawler by actually fighting these past few years

LOL @ people thinking Nick can get off his couch and beat Lawler

i miss him a lot. But i wouldn't mind if he retires forever, he seems to be happy without fighting

As if he literally would get off his couch straight to the octagon. Who the hell doesn't know that Diaz keeps himself in shape even when not fighting ? All he'd need is a camp and he's good. Maybe 1 tune up fight.

Lawler.
Robbie fights a lot smarter now, but i don't know if he ca resist getting into a brawl with Diaz lol

But still right now Lawler > Diaz because of recent activity, wouldn't count out Diaz though. Close Fight

Fighting shape and weed smoking shape are 2 different things

The style matchup is great, both can brawl but are almost impossible to knockout, we'd have another war for sure. the problem is Nick doesn't seem to take it seriously anymore and said he only fights big money fights now...i'd pay good money to see that rematch tho.

Usually I agree but for a guy who smokes in the morning before training to help him focus I'm not sure this is the case.

in the words of a Conor McGregor nuthugger here on sherdog about Nate not being KO'd by Conor's punches "weed seems to create a pain shield in the brain thats why nate wasn't ko'd"

Out of shape Diaz still out cardios every fighter aside from his brother and maybe Edgar. The kind of cycling he does for iron man and triathalons especially makes your heart muscle trained to the point where he probably does not even increase his heart rate doing what makes the average person suck wind.

This is a guy who swims Alcatraz and back to challenge himself swimming. The shape it requires to pull that off is almost hard to imagine for solid lifeguards.

I love Nick as a fighter but unfortunately he hasn't been in the cage enough to be in fight shape and fight ready. Training camp is what makes you tighten up your skills and feel comfortable. Sort of like how the first time you play basketball it feels so strange but if you do it every day it's like second nature. Fighting is no different. Knowing how to hit and grapple are different than knowing how to and consistency doing it day in and day out so its second nature.

I still say he's got the kryptonite for Robbie's style.

Reminds me of the ruling to over turn Nick's win over Gomi.

Some motherfukers are always trying to swim up stream man lol.

The fact they still remind us that he was winning before he lost baffles the mind. Nate has no history of popping for weed. No proof he even smokes when in camp for a fight. Those fans will hang on to anything.
