Considering he showed no ring rust after a 2 year layoff I'll pick Cruz against McGregor overtime. You can't beat what you can't hit. For that matter I would love to see McGregor vs Mighty Mouse at their proper weights. I don't think Conor would land anything significant on MM all fight.

Would be interesting, I don't think Cruz could be able to eat the left hands like Nate did, but he doesn't get hit very much and I think he'd be well prepared to avoid it. I feel Cruz would be too well prepared and outpoint Conor to a decision.

I don't see the tools Conor brings giving Cruz that much trouble, however if one clean on managed to get through, it'll probably be lights out. Still Cruz via decision.

I could see Cruz avoiding the left hand easily and taking Conor down in route to a decision. Cruz wrestling is some of the best in MMA and so are his transitions from striking to wrestling.

He took Dillashaw down 4 times, Mighty Mouse 10 times, Faber 4 times. I think he could get Conor down pretty easily.

He also has some of the best defense in MMA.

It'd be a pretty close fight. If Conor lands a big shot Cruz is definitely in trouble.

All assuming the fight is at 145 and what we know of Conors cardio. i think with cruz pace and pressuring we'd see Conor very tired by the 3rd

I see it as being a pretty close fight. I'd expect Cruz to be a big underdog because people are stupid, and I'd definitely bet on him with decent odds.

Cruz got beat up by TJ and arguably lost. Also Cruz has 68 inch reach.
If you say Conor couldn't hit him because he's too fast, that means that Rockhold, Jones or Werdum would also lose to Cruz because he's too fast for them as well.

If he doesn't get knocked out or severely battered, yeah Cruz could dance to a decision win. He has excellent transitions, but I think he'd struggle to take/keep Conor down due to the size disparity. For the record, I think he'd get knocked out.

He took TJ down for a whopping total of 30 seconds and Conor is twice the size of Mighty Mouse. Same with Faber. He never established control; just points (that shouldn't be scored).
