Who you think has the advantage in striking and the clinch? Khabib or Tony?

Just want to here some opinions, very excited about the fight.

Striking? C'mon. Of course Tony.

Clinch? Khabib unless he's tired, then his neck is in jeopardy.

Good question... Going to be real interesting. Ferguson has the better striking... but Khabib and that clinch work. Thinking Khabib... We will find out April 7th.

Khabib will win stand up exchanges similar to all his fights due to the threat of intense takedowns/gnp

Striking on feet? Cucuy

Striking on ground? Khabib

Although if Tony can rip off those elbows I may be wrong.

Clinch? I can't see ANYONE at LW beating Khabib there.

His body locks and trip combos are just nuckin futz.

Tony's striking defense isn't as good as Khabib's, but Tony uses more weapons. So I'd say fairly equal in striking and Khabib a clear advantage in the grappling department. Khabib ain't bad off his back either, people forget that.

Striking is all Tony but I can see him eating some decent shots from Khabib just because that's his style.

Khabib's clinch game is ridiculous. He's so active from the clinch and just make it look easy.

What I mean about the clinch is if you get tired and lean forward on him, his snapdown is NASTY. Whether you are a great grappler or not, you can't afford to do it against him even once. Trujillo does it here and look what happens:

Lando too:

A fresh Khabib isn't gonna do that. I just cannot see him wading in leaning forward like that. But late in the fight if he's tired...different story possibly.

Excited for this fight.
I like both fighers and happy that the deepest division can move on from the cancer that plagued it November 12, 2016.

Christ it looks like they just gave up before he even locked the d'arce. Abel and Lando aren't even trying to scramble or stand. They were just out of gas. Wow.

Normally id agree, but Ferg wont be worried about stopping the takedowns so i dont think it'll affect Tonys striking. Especially in the early rounds

Can anyone think of a time Khabib gassed? I'm drawing a blank here on that front, but he seems to have no issue pushing a hellacious pace for 3 rounds. Tony's cardio is probably the best at 155 though, and he'll be going hard for the full 25 minutes. I expect Khabib's gonna ground him early and often and the question will become how effective he can be off of his back against a guy who probably has the nastiest top game this side of Luke Rockhold.

Trujillo he didn't lock in a d'arce at all. He just grabbed the front headlock and went snapdown on him quickly. Abel was tired for sure, but that snapdown was QUICK and I think it surprised Abel.

Lando was exhausted. He threw a lot of power shots early in that fight, and also ate a ton of hard punches from Tony. Once he leaned forward and Tony grabbed him, Lando had no fight left in him, I totally agree. Tony cinched up the d'arce standing which you rarely see in MMA.

The only way one of these dudes is getting KO'd is if the other accidentally runs into a punch. The stand up is going to set MMA back a decade. I'm still gonna watch the torrent though.

The one with Abel is super weird on both Abel and Tony's part. Tony had his forearm fished all the way under his neck. I think Abel Tucked his chin but Tony could have locked and rolled him onto his back there. Wonder why he opted not to. And for Abel, yeah that snap down was quick but even as Tony started circling he just stood there. Like he had no will left in him to fight back.

That Lando fight was crazy. I hope they run that back one day. it was just super fun.

Thier techniques striking on feet have 2 entirely different purposes. Tony wants to wear you down like the Diaz bros, and wait for you to make a mistake. Khabib wants to get you moving backwards and take u down or get ur back on the fence. Eventually taking you down. I think Tony is a good striker, nice jab, has lots of attacks and good angles, where khabib is typical Russian Sambo with looping heavy strikes and uppercuts but doesn't jab a lot. He doesn't need to jab as much because his purpose is not to wear u down on the feet. Clinch def goes to khabib. When u see a clinch with him, someone's under him on the ground shortly after eating shots.

Tony striking and the rest Khabib.

I also don't think the striking difference can be that exploited by Tony he isn't this super technical or powerful striker that can abuse that skill gap.
