Fresh off UFC 220 lets pose a nice hypothetical, Stipe versus DC who you got?

I think DC wins with 5 round of dominate wrestling and sufficient standup. Let me know what you think.

I really like DC, both the public presence and the fighter. And yes, we've seen him throw around bigger men than Stipe like a sack of potatoes. But Stipe is smart, really athletic, a better striker than DC and not a bad wrestler himself. I almost want to say whoever has better BJJ.

If I had to put money on, which I wouldn't unless I had to, I'd pick Stipe.

Stipe by boxing and TDD but I wouldn't be surprised if Cormier took the lead in the later rounds.

DC has already said he's scared to fight Stipe or Ngannou because they're both monsters

I really want to see this fight...

at first glance, Stipe should be a clear favourite...but DC without having to murder himself to make 205? Despite being a bit older, imagine Strikeforce DC, but with considerably more skill and experience under his belt. I think it is waaay more competitive than many people think.

IMHO, it would also be a more interesting fight for both Stipe and DC than anything in their own divisions...otherwise we are prob looking at rematches with Werdum and Gus, respectively. both are good fights, but neither are as compelling as a head-to-head.

Courmier says he won't be fighting when he's 40. He turns 39 on March 20th. He's got two more fights him, three if he wants to go that route.

One of those fights is Jones. If Jones get cleared. DC won't hang around for him, but it's far and away the biggest possible in-division payday.

As a 'going-out-of-business' fight, why not Stipe? Win or lose, call it a day, and the UFC can have a LHW tournament, and maybe a heavyweight tournament.

Courmier is the UFC's Larry Holmes. A lot of time is gonna have to pass before people realize how great he was.

Strikeforce DC murks him

HW to LHW to HW war torn old DC loses
