he was always good at defending TD against Usman. He was one of the guys Usman had trouble with there.

He took Leon down at will during the fight that Leon wom with the head kick.

That last one not so much...big improvement.

Yeah but he could not keep him down at all. Leon didnt let him do much with them. He could always get up and get free.

That I have to disagree with.
Usman man handled him in that fight.

That last ine he didn't let Usman do anything.
That double hand control was a new wrinkle.

I don't remember all the specifics of that their first fight but definitely recall Usman was ahead until fifth round headshot boom.

Yeah thats true. He's got you there

@Davidjacksonjones explain yourself!

My explanation is. I am biased lol
I have been following Jones for over 10 years and he got me into this sport of MMA. I did go through periods of hating him for being a dip shit, e.g. the pregnant woman incident, drink driving, etc. He always finds a way to win back my heart lol

I admit its hypocritical since I bash on Conor all the time on here while worshipping Jones

Oh I agree, but my point was the noticable improvement in that next fight.
I think that will help tremendously in this fight.
I'm not sure it was improvement as much as Leon wasn't gassed from the altitude. He said as much after the trilogy fight. He basically said the 3rd fight went how the 2nd fight was supposed to go before his body shut down on him.

The second fight was the headshot, but Usman manhandled in both the first and second fight.

Second fight until the head kick of course.

The 3rd, Leon showed serious improvement in his TDD.

I've always loved Jones in the octagon.

Then what happened in the first?
He got ragdolled.

That 3rd fight he went to 2 on 1 hand control and it made a massive difference.

Admitted bias...only a good egg would do that.

Oh and fuck Jon Jones lol

First fight was actually quite competitive. Leon won a round and had Usman in a relatively tight triangle at one point.

Usman said prior to the 2nd fight that Leon gave him lots of trouble in the grappling department the 1st time around.

Ragdolled is quite the overstatement sir.

Yeah me too
MYy friend from high school was telling me about Jon Jones and showing me his YouTube videos. This was quite a bit before he was champion. I saw him do all these amazing moves, kicks, elbows, knees etc. It was very intriguing watching the way he fights. My friend was telling me, watch, this guy is gonna be champion one day. Then he did it, we saw him obliterate the legend Shogun, to become the youngest UFC champ in history at 23. Ever since learning about Jones i started to research into more about other fighters, and eventually MMA became my favorite sport, over Rugby League which is huge in my country.

Crazy how long ago this was, and Jones has never really lost since then and is still champion

He didn't get Tyron Woodley treatment from Usman but he got beat in that department smartass lol
