Sounds like Dana might be setting Lesnar up for an immediate title shot if he returns, not a shocker. Rondas gone, Conor has been MIA for 2 years from the Octagon and most likely longer now, Anderson is out, GSP has an indefinite return, so the UFC needs some new/old blood to bring back interests to the UFC and one of the greatest if not greatest UFC draws has been Brock Lesnar. Also, the HW division is as shallow as it's ever been. The UFC doesn't want Stipe fighting running man Overem or Ngannou 5 times like Cain fought JDS and Big Foot.

Stipe has very good striking with good wrestling, his submission game against top competition is unknown especially from his back and his GnP has been good when he's fresh but very weak against Ngannou.

DC also has very good striking with his boxing not being as good as Stipe's but he utilizes kicks more, has perhaps some of the best wrestling in the HW division, and his ground game is decent and he has some sub victories against top competition.

Lesnar has a far better chance at taking Stipe down than he does DC and that's his only way to victory. If Lesnar can get Stipe down or DC down either could be in big trouble. Both have far better striking than Brock so Brock's only chance is getting the TD. Since it most likely would be very hard but not impossible against DC, I'd say Lesnar has a better chance against Stipe than he does DC.

What's also good for Lesnar is that DC and Stipe don't have proven 1 punch KO power like a Hunt or Carwin. Lesnar's proven to have a very good chin, he just reacts to being hit poorly, but he's taken punches to get close to get the TD and not having 1 punch KO power against Lesnar isn't good for you.

So, I'd say if Lesnar fought either of these two he's got a far better chance against Stipe than he does against DC.

Who agrees or disagrees and why?

Neither are good fights for Lesnar
I don't know which is worse
He should go for somebody like Black Beast
At least he'd have a chance at keeping him down + gnp

Lesnar vs Ngannou is the fight to make.

Classic striker vs grappler

Plus, imagine this fight in this political context. I'm sure Dana will cash in on this, invite Trump to attend.

Things will get very interesting. Lots of bans on the forums.

DC is a worse matchup for pretty much anyone than Stipe IMO. I'm not sure how Stipes wrestling would look against Brock, but I'm fairly certain DC would throw him around.

True but who's the HW champ gonna fight? The division is shallow as it's ever been, can't have Stipe fighting running man Overeem or Ngannou 5 times like Cain fought Bigfoot and JDS.

This place will implode if Brock gets a title shot.

Can't wait!

Brock loses both of those fights, but Stipe is a harder fight IMO

Both would fuck him up bad.

Ngannou would also fuck him up.

Brock needs to fight Overeem if he wants a good winnable fight + some revenge.

Stipe would have the easier time getting the KO.

At least Lesnar could rush and ground and pound Stipe(best case scenario for Lesnar). Against DC he doesn't even have that option.

Stipe knocks people the fuck out.

With proven 1 punch KO's against top competition???

No.

He knocked out a foolish Werdum who ran at him and got knocked out with a perfect precision punch. Yes, it was a great shot but Werdum's momentum helped a lot. Also why Stipe only has 1 one punch KO against top competition, if it wasn't for Werdum's foolishness, Stipe would have not 1 one punch KO.

Stipe may not have dependable one-punch-and-you're-out power, but he DOES have one-punch-and-you're fucked power. Functionally equivalent (dare I say, virutally identical ?), especially when we're dealing with an opponent with a reputation for not reacting well to punches.

He took a bunch of Carwin's power punches and came back to win.

So yes, 1 punch power is far better to have against any opponent, especially Lesnar.

I disagree that Stipe doesn't have knockout power. That's how he won, then defended, the belt in the first place.

For some reason it seems like almost no one realizes that Stipe was a D1 all American. Adding that to his other MMA skills and the fact that he is still close to his prime while Brock is 40 and Brock has virtually zero chance to win, especially if we're talking about a flabby USADA Brock.
