Forrest Gump ended up winning Best Picture. Did they get it right?

I remember thinking at the time Pulp Fiction was the best written movie of that year.

Brutal that they snubbed Beverly Hills Cop 3 like that.

Wow that’s a stacked year. I do think they got it right though

I think they snubbed Leon: The Professional or they released the film too late for it to be nominated.

If it was going to be nominated, it would've been under Best Foreign Film.

If I'm being serious about snubs, all of Interview with the Vampire, Legends of the Fall, Ed Wood and True Lies deserved it more than 4 Weddings and a Funeral.

I always thought The Professional was a bit overrated and creepy, but it still wouldn't have been too out of place in the top five. Jean Reno did a very good job, but not all elements of the movie stuck the landing. Luc Besson usually connects and misses with various parts of his films.

Gump and Shawshank were both great. Shawshank deserved it but Gump probably would have most other years.

Pulp Fiction?
<{cruzshake}>

Shawshank woulda won if they didnt ruin it with that final scene
If the movie ended with Red on the bus wondering about Andy, leaving peoples imaginations tingling, BOOM! Oscar in hand guaranteed

I think Im gonna watch Quiz Show tonight, that is such a great movie

Gump or Shawshank but since its close I tend to think they got it right.

The ending was perfect. It was the most powerful endings ever. I cried in the end.

The ending was perfect if you need to wrap a happy little bow on everything
Leaving people wondering is much more interesting
