All the articles about the fight are calling it "first time Conor lost a fight that wasn't by submission/first KO loss"...
It's still a TKO, but TKO (submission to punches) has a nice ring to it.

After looking around a bit, Sherdog staff member JayPettryMMa posted the following:

Sherdog officially puts submitting to strikes as TKO (Submission to X) where X is the type of strikes that forced the tapout.

Look to examples involving Mirko Cro Cop to clarify. Josh Barnett tapped out to strikes from Cro Cop at Pride Final Conflict 06 and we have it as TKO (Submission to Punches). Meanwhile, Cro Cop verbally submitted to a punch thrown by JDS and we have it registered as TKO (Submission to Punch).

So it's still a TKO, but should be TKO (submission to punches) like Tito Ortiz loss to Frank Shamrock.
