I remember seeing this event life and Tito walking and feeling a crazy energy. Tito singing along right at the part "ripping someones head off" and then walking out and right before the octagon stopping and nodding his head like " lets go" Still gives my goosebumps.

Back when Pride was around, the UFC had to step up their production game otherwise ot made PRIDE look like a more pro org with better fighters....

There really was no competing with PRIDE's production tho.....they wanted their stars to look like super heroes, not just promote their own brand....and the fighters loved them for it.

Keep in mind this is before the show started.....


EDIT: EVERYTHING about PRIDE was better....my god....Even the crowd....theres nothing like a 30,000 person live crowd cheering loudly during the introductions, but quiet as a mouse during complex grappling exchanges actually able to understand sweeps and position control.....then a light applause if a fighter is able to get themselves out of danger.....

Its a shame the golden ERA of mma came and went so soon.....

As much as I loved the old UFC entrances (especially the fighter, and only the fighter coming out like it was pro wrestling), the pageantry of PrideFC entrances was insane. Some of the ones at the Shockwave and Grand Prix Events were insane. Especially when they had crazy rows of huge ass drums being pounded. Chills.

Japan just is better about the whole show. The fact they care about the live audience really shined on camera....

This brings back some great memories. The opening alone was something to look forward to. My two fav ones are Final Conflict 2006 for the OWGP which had that 1 in a 6 bill line. And from 2004 Final Conflict where they had the drummer pyramid. That was the show where they had the fighters nations projected on the entire arena
