Hector Lombard
Nate is still not good based on his fights with Thomson, Henderson and RDA.I remember when TONS of people on here hated on the Diaz bros, now everybody loves them. I felt like one of the few big fans of them on here before but things have changed. Now everybody is a big fan of Nate since he beat Conor, sadly most never cared for him before and acted like he was no good. Shit, I remember when people used to say they were 'thugs' and acted like they were bad people. Funny how things have changed so much.
I guess Bisping would be my pick, same as Hans Gercmiov. I've always been a fan of Bisping, think he's a great fighter and find him pretty entertaining to listen to and watch. Basically everybody hates the guy and a lot of people can't accept that he beat Anderson and think Anderson was robbed, even though Bisping clearly won IMO. Really, most people can't accept that Anderson can lose at all, making him out to be invincible n shit and that all his losses were BS, lol so glad he lost and tested positive, dem real colours.
That, who is your favorite fighter who much of Sherdog seems to be down on, but you like? Not talking about people like Conor or Ronda who have a lot of haters but also a lot of fans, more guys who are bashed consistently and rarely get support. For example Travis Browne who much of Sherdog says has no skills, Bethe Correia who... same thing, Tyron Woodley who many wish to never get a title shot, Bryan Caraway who is often looked down on, Shogun who nobody hates but most are completely hopeless for and want to retire, etc. Which whipping boy/girl do you root for and hope to prove Sherdog wrong?
Drug use, flipping their opponent off and trash talking them mid fight, complete unwillingness to accept a loss. Sounds like every street thug I've ever met. They aren't 'thugs', they're actually very nice guys. I have talked to Nick a few times and he couldn't have been any more respectful. Both him and Nate have said things that may make some people think they're bad guys, but they're really not. The way they are at work is not how they truly are in their everyday life. They approach MMA realistically, it's a FIGHT. Some people like to say "it's a sport" but seem to forget this sport is about fighting. When they're not at work, they're very different. They're in a completely different state of mind when they're at work.
The Diaz bros are some of the most approachable fighters around. From all the stories I've heard from people meeting them, and from a good friend of mine who trains with them, I've heard nothing but good things. Actually, one of my friends that met them a few years ago said that Nick randomly came up to him at a bar and just talked to him for a good 30 minutes because he saw him wearing a Diaz shirt, if I remember correctly. They're not bad guys, they're very nice, actually. Thugs aren't like that and thugs don't work as hard as they do, thugs are on the street selling drugs and robbing people, that's a thug.
What makes you think they're thugs? Out of all the people I have ever seen say that stupid shit, not once have they given a reasonable explanation.
Cruz is an interesting case, rewind two and a half years and damn, was I getting a hard time as a fan of his. Accusations of being fragile, point-fighting, calls for him to be stripped etc., etc.. Now all of a sudden he's popular, out of nowhere. Crazy.Mighty Mouse and Dominick Cruz.
I was forced to root against machida those shogun matches.I kinda like Bethe COrreia and don't understand why people hate her so much. There was a time that there was more Machida hater than fans (I think). Around 2009 in the Machida Era when he first defended his belt against Shogun. The fight was absolutely great, but everyone was crying foul against Machida because he got (in their opinion) a BullShit decision.
True. I remember he had put good perfromances against both Jorgensen and Benavidez when he was champ in the WEC and even won FOTN against Faber in his UFC debut and was still catching flack. I've always thought he was entertaining.Cruz is an interesting case, rewind two and a half years and damn, was I getting a hard time as a fan of his.
