Jacare is working
Vitor has known cardio issues.
Bullshit stopping it to get that checked out right then

A good one. Making sure there wasn't blood in his eye. Health first bro

Didn't end up mattering.
But it's a momentum thing, Jacare dominating early, the cut clearly wasn't that bad
Idk seemed a detriment to Jacare at the time

The stoppage is even worse

Very late stoppage imo

That wasn't bad. Restarted in half guard, Jacare passed but then Vitor got out.

Blood in the eyes is no joke.

Seeing is important.

Ref had him checked out.

It's his job.

he went from being a god in ancient Egypt to being an MMA referee. talk about a fall from grace.

Belfort isn't known for having cardio issues. He hasn't had a fight go past the midway point of the second round in 9 years.

He restarted it in the exact same position , so not like it matters.

Of course it matters. It stops the momentum and gives the guy an opportunity to rest. Also, the fight is never restarted exactly how it was.

It was actually quite appropriate, the cut was fast and lots of blood.

It's not the ref's job to insure he doesn't have blood in his eyes. Stopping the fight when one fighter is in a good position to get a stoppage is asinine.

I agree the stoppage was beneficial to Belfort.

At least the ref restarted them in the right position.

All is well that ends well.

they needed a more experienced ref for it

Everything that ref did made me believe he is one of the best refs in the game. Even after what some consider a late stoppage I said to myself, I like this guy.

I mean, it's a rule to stop the fight if the cut is that bad and considering how much he was bleeding and there was a stop in the action, the ref stopped it at the right time for the doc to look at it to make sure it wasn't above the eye.
