Out of that list, Chuck Liddel. But Forrest Griffin should be on it too.

Nobody IMO.

But Anderson probably comes closest in terms of accomplishments in the UFC and clowning opponents.

I don't get the criteria used to make that list.

Well, nobody in MMA is even close to having the cultural impact or the impact on their sport that Ali had. The existence of MMA as a sport is like 25 years old. Muhammad Ali himself has been an icon for twice as long as that. So nobody.

And really, half the people on your list will be forgotten about in MMA in 5 years. Rumble? Hunt? These dudes aren't even champions.

"It takes true skills to be in the sport of boxing....and mix martial arts is for beer drinkers." - Floyd Mayweather Jr

Last time I checked Ali was no beer drinker...so no one.

The fact you put connor in the list shows how retarded you are op.....

The only person that comes close is Anderson Silva and he's still not Ali status

What's fkn wrong with being a beer drinker? Fuck that guy!

None. This list is insulting. Muhammad Ali is the most famous athlete to ever live and one of the most famous humans to ever live.

Globally? Nobody.

Ali meant something to society, is an iconic figure and an olympic gold medalist. Completely different caliber from the greats of MMA.

Ali is the kind of person that shows up once in centuries.

Skill and game-changing? That is, how much his approach to the sport shaped the way it's practiced and how it evolved?

Maybe Silva had a similar impact to the way modern MMA evolved. But he means nothing outside MMA.

This.

I wish the three people who voted Conor would punch themselves in the face.

Edit: 41 PEOPLE! Are you fuckin kidding me?!

Really there isn't one. And there is nothing wrong with that. MMA is still an infant, compared to boxing which has been around forever.

You could only list individual attributes and say they resemble ali in that way.
Anderson - for his accomplishments
Conor - in the way he talks, flamboyant and predicts "tings"
Dom Cruz - footwork

But in reality there is no fighter that resembles Ali, because what he did made him a total package. He accomplished great things outside of boxing too. A real icon, the real definition of a legend. So there is NO UFC's version of Ali. Not yet anyway. None of them have fought for their rights the way Ali did. So there is simply no comparison. A cultural icon, who inspired millions all across the planet. Which UFC fighter can say they did that? NO ONE ........... Probably Chael Sonnen :p But well we would all know he is full of shit :D

Seriously nobody even comes close to having the same impact.

I remember this Mcgregor interview where after saying he has been compared to Muhammad Ali the reporter lets out a very dismissive chuckle. That's the appropriate response.

No one. Ali is known worldwide, ask just about anyone anywhere who he is and they will know. Whether they have watched him fight or not.
