Wrestler is different than “grappler” Khabib is the best grappler, and I would say GSP is the best wrestler. Maybe Maia, he is known as a master grappler with dangerous subs and it’s really the only way he found his big successes

Khabib hasn't grappled any good grapplers.

Gaethje hadn't used his wrestling for 10 year, and literally admitted he didn't know BJJ.

Dustin Poirer's wrestling sucks, and his BJJ isn't top tier either.

Conor is the best grappler Khabib fought, which is saying something, because Diaz submitted him faster than Khabib did.

It hasnt left something to be desired. Its just obvious there are much better grapplers in MMA than him. This isnt about popularity,or accomplishments. This is straight up who is a better grappler than Jones,and i think there are plenty. He is very good at using what he has in MMA though as part of the overall package

to be fair, TS hasnt really told us what he means. as much as i dislike jones, he was able to stop allof dc's takedowns and his defesive wrestling is unbelievable. offensivley hes maybe one notch below that

Also a striker, but yeah the best grappler Khabib has fought idk how I forgot him. But he is PURELY a top game guy tho, zero guard skills & not much scramble ability.

Rda grapples a lot and is a black belt. Honestly in this era of mma there are not a lot of lws with dangerous guard games.

The game in general has moved away from using the guard heavily.

I would put Jones as 3rd. Recently he hasn't been amazing in that aspect but he outgrappled the best of them once.

Cormier is up there. Who else would you put over Jones/Cormier?

We were supposed to find out who is better in their fight. but Paul had to be a bitch and kept scratching and gauging the man's eyes till his eye sockets pour blood.

Not using examples of them being old, though if I was a clueless wiki-thumper I'd also tell u Neiman gracie just subbed Fitch as well or that Burkeman subbed him even though it was set up with strikes.

RDA and Poirier are BJJ black belts. Gaethje is a D1 wrestler. It doesn’t matter to Khabib, nobody at LW would’ve stopped him. Usman and Colby probably would

Like I said in my follow up post, Gaethje was a D1 wrestler and a good one, but his actual level in mma using his wrestling is not very high at all. I am talking about fighters who actually apply their wrestling effectively in fights and Gaethje does not, he's a striker. RDA as I said was a legit BJJ guy, Poirier is not. Again, just having the title black belt doesn't make em good. It's the application. And Poirier is a striker plain and simple.

That's the point, he never fought guys like Benson, Edgar, Alverez or Chanlder. Fighters who effectively use the grappling and wrestling.

RDA, very strong grappler high level black belt, Khabib rag dogged him when he wasn’t even at his peak yet. Khabib is the greatest grappler in mma history by far. It’s not even a question anymore except with a few hipster Sherbros.

Come on dude, RDA is a solid grappler, but nothing special. You really want to stake Khabibs grappling acumen on a guy that got rag dolled by Chiesa? Fucking Chiesa?

Fact is, Khabib has been facing strikers, plain and simple.
It is a question, because unlike the rest of the grappling goats, we never saw Khabib take on a hard grappling test.

fucking alvarez and edgar saying they never were able to take down barboza in sparring, while khabib is playing with barboza like he is son. Chandler is a lesser justin gaethje, worse striking, worse cardio, worse takedown defense actually, and do nothing on the ground other than lay and pray. Chandler could try to take khabib down, he ll gass as fuck and mostly get subbed anyway. Khabib aint belabor lvl LMAO.

Be objective, u really think khabib would ve struggle to finish a dan hardy type fighters on the ground lmao.

GSP might be the better overall fighter, but grappling wise it is pretty obvious who is the best.

No they are not...sorry. Taverez is not a even a high level fighter so it's hardly worth mentioning. As I said, RDA is really the only good grappler Khabib has beat. And that fight was in 2014, before RDA really worked on his game and developed his wrestling game and became a complete grappler. But Bendo, Chandler, Alverez, and Edgar are overall better grapplers no doubt.

You're bringing up sparring?? GTFO with that nonsense. We're talking about a fight here buddy. Furthermore, stop trying to change the subject and narrative. Whether Geathje has better or worse striking, cardio etc is irrelevant to the discussion. We're talking purely about grappling ability here. Chandler is a far better grappler offensively and defensively than Gaethje, it's not even close. Gaethje doesn't grapple period, he's a striker. Chadler has shown much more of a effective ground game.

GSP has a more complete grappling game than Khabib. And he's actualy proved it vs top tier grapplers/wrestlers like Fitch, Koscheck 2x, Hendricks, Hughes, Trigg, Sherk, Parysian, Diaz, Penn, Condit, Serra. That is a dam good list of wrestlers, grapplers and BJJrs. He's completely out grappled every single one of these guys, and that's a list of 12 fighters buddy. Let's see your boy Khabib come up with a list close to this. Who?? RDA? A bunch of striking based fighers?

Statistically GSP is a better grappler. The numbers prove it, his TDs are over 26% higher than Khabib. His control time is better and vs higher level grapplers.

Anyone who thinks Khabib has better grappling than GSP, and you gotta base it off performance needs to get their head examined.

Besides the obvious dislike for Jones that you have due to his “antics”. What about his grappling overall throughout his career has left something to be desired for you? I honestly don’t know how you could objectively place 10 fighters in front of him given the world class grapplers that he’s made seem amateur-ish for the vast majority of his career.

Got taken down multiple times by Gus. Couldn't take down Lionheart, Santos nor Reyes. He has the most overrated wrestling in mma history solely based on his takedown on a gassed Cormier.
