Ryan Dungey is bar none the greatest athlete in American sports, and arguably the greatest athlete ever. In the dictionary next to the word GOAT is a picture of the Dungey.


Does anyone in MMA come close to his level of sustained excellence?

Ryan Dungey - Supercross racer. Blew everyone away and retired on top. I'm a fan of him.

The only guy in MMA who can draw a comparison is GSP. He also retired on top, not counting popping back in for a day to defeat the worst middleweight champion ever.

Ryan Dungey's net worth is "only" 8 million though, so perhaps we can't compare GSP to him after all. But nobody else retired on top.

I first read the title and thought he was referring to the guy from the jackass series. I was thinking, hmmmmm, a guy that died young near the pinnacle of his fame?
That would actually make a better topic than this one, imo.
 
Supercross guy, nice.
I'd go with GSP.
Exciting year coming up this year in SX, Tomac and Moose have a lot of catching up to do and the resurgence of Barcia has me completely surprised
