Who is the next Gracie to carry on the family name?

For a while I thought that big HW gracie was gonna be the next big thing but he seemed to have fizzled out. How about Rener? I like the guy's videos, makes his fight analysis too BJJ centric at times but he's a good looking dude and I think he's got that leading man charisma and appeal. Is he ever gonna make a MMA debut?

There are a ton of fighters out there who carry on the name because they are students under the Gracie family or that is how they come up through martial arts

Far from a disgrace. What they teach online is what was originally taught in Brazil. Group classes didn't exist until it came to America. While the need for jiu jitsu evolved for sport jiu jitsu and mma with rules, Gracie Jiu Jitsu has stayed true to what started with. The most effective self defense program in the world.
The truth doesn't change, perception does to fit people's own opinion.
If the gracie that are complaining could have figured out how to reach so many people first they would have.

Not even a gatekeeper. It's a shame, had high hopes for the guy. Though I do think his mistake was fighting in the wrong weight class, he always looked like he had a bad time cutting weight.
You need to be healthy and have a gas tank in fight day if you're a BJJ guy.

Pretty sure you need to learn concepts online and then demonstrate them with a partern. They are not giving blue blet's to people who are training by them selves.
20 years ago I bought the vhs tapes. By buddies and I would watch Rorion and Royce demonstrate and the we would try it. There were no schools. 6 months after that they opened a training association an hour from our house. We drove every weekend. But we still practiced during the week.

Exposure will lead to the desire to take it further. Worked for me.
