Who is the greatest Filipino Singer of all time?

Only Filipino singer I know of is Manny Pacquiao.

technically, that's hard. They put something in the water over there, they stay slaying vocals

They have this YT channel called WISH 107.5 that has incredible live singing, and i don't use that term loosely.

Marcelito Pomoy is incredible, the youngster Darren Espanto is beast, Jed Medala was a monster for a bit, that lesbian chick that was on Glee was a beast too.

no seriously, this dude sings this w/ perfect key/pitch/runs/vibratto in like the exact manner of Celine Dion.

What in the literal f. And he's live, and sitting down ffs

Jed Madela has a set of pipes for sure.

Lea Salonga was actually very beastly. Watch her audition here:

That fucking voice my God. But of course we all can agree that Manny Pac is the best singer in the planet.

Surprised nobody mentioned Freddy Aguilar. He's a Filipino legend and should be a Sherdog favorite, being a :eek::eek::eek:phile and all. :D
We don't mind the :eek::eek::eek:phile part, but the Muslim part we can't abide by.

He has possibly the greatest connected falsetto of all time. Definitely the best I've seen since Ted Neeley, who's able to play tenor roles with ease in musical theater, despite being a baritone. Pomoy has similar technique which allows him to sing soprano as well as his natural tenor.

Filipinos have always had an ear for music, even prior to being colonized by Spain. Unfortunately, there's way too many who love videoke and should be nowhere near a microphone....

I got interested in playing the guitar because of Freddy as I saw his TV performances as a kid and his musical contribution to the 86' revolution.

Too bad he turned to the dark side!

I'm not even sure that's falsetto, I think it's mostly head voice but who knows. Either way that dude's phrasing, emoting, and just everything singing is nearly impeccable

well shit, I just saw you said 'connected falsetto' which is essentially Head Voice, so touche

I think the best current 'falsetto' in the game besides him or Mitch Grassi from Pentatonix is Deandre Brackensick
check out his cover of Deangelo's "Untitled (how does it feel)" on YT, i'd link it but I can't on work computers.

The control and falsetto is so spectacular it should be illegal IMO

The only correct answer is Arnel Pineda....he is the guy that sounds like fucking Steve Perry in his prime and sings in Journey now.

.....no.

Il Divo has only worked with one Philipinian singer ever, and I trust in Il Divo
