Who's the greatest American grappler? IM(Humble)O it's gotta be Jeff Monson. Wadda youse think?

America includes North, Central and South American countries too, so you have to consider the Brazilians as well. hehe. Monson has an incredible record in grappling. Forget calling him one of the best Americans, he is at the top worldwide although he doesnt get too many tap outs. David Terrell, Dean Lister, I'm sure others will add to the list.

Sorry, I should've specified U.S. of American. There are so many great Brazilians it would be endless debate on who's the greatest. I wanted to see who people thought represented U.S. the way Royler represents Bresil.

adcc absolut champion and super fight winner... I would say dean lister, but I'm portuguese...

hawaii is technically part of america, so bj penn is up there too. i beleive he's still the only american to win mundial at blackbelt.

gi= bj
no gi= Dean lister

we are talking about accomplishments here

bj penn is good... But i hate the guys attitude in mma.

Dean lister is really good - very respectable, very intelligent.

lots of gppd guys to choose, Lister, Penn, Terrell, Laimon

That took way too much effort.

Dean Lister is a fantastic grappler and gets my vote.

its obvious why I agree with those choices

I actually don't think that monson's strenght comes from liborio... it's good to learn how to avoid being sub'ed, but it is his takedowns that make him win fights

yeah mosnson ain't the most technical out there, but his build and defence makes him good in points based matches
