Poirer and Alvarez will face in Calgary. If Conor doesn't come back then winner likely get the title shot.I don't think Nate Diaz will return unless fight with Conor.
So what is next for Lee?
Title shot?loser of Poirer/Alvarez or another option?

if conor-khabib, and poirier-alvarez, then i guess lee-tony?

in my perfect world, Justin Gaethje. i want to see his if his wrestling really is all that or not. and if it is, i want to see what Lee does.

i'm so excited for this matchup that i'm quite certain it will never happen.

instead he'll fight the loser of Alvarez v Poirier. and maybe Al I fights Justin.

The UFC doesn't want to lose Gaethje. Three loses in a row is cutting it thin.

Khabib should be next, so we can finally see this guy exposed,

what's that nonsense talk?

it's not going to happen solely because i want to see it, not because of logical matchup reasons.
Yeah I think Justin probably can lose four in a row before his in an elimination fight. All his loses were bangers where he almost won until he didn't. There were crappier fighters that were given a similar pass.

Diaz is rumored to be fighting GSP at LW on August 4th..which is a stupid fight but whatever (compared to the fights GSP could be in)

There's basically 4 possible options for him:

1. Hold out for a title shot with Khabib. If Conor doesn't come back they'll probably give the fight to Lee.

2. Wait for Tony to come back and rematch with him. That might not be until Feb-April next year which would be a really long layoff for Kevin.

3. Fight the winner of Poirier/Alvarez for a true #1 contender fight, probably in November or December.

4. Fight Nate Diaz. This is the fight that actually makes the most sense and would get Kevin back in the octagon the soonest, however it all depends on whether Nate would take the fight (most likely not).

There's 4 interesting possibilities for him out there, he'll just have to wait and see how the pieces fall into place.

He's in an awkward spot. All of the highest ranked names are injured or booked, and he's already just got done fighting someone coming off a loss (Barboza), to do so again would be pointless for his status.

He's already got a hefty following, he's made a good name for himself based off his last performance and subsequent podcast with Rogan.

I expect he'll take a bit of a layoff tbh, improve his skills, and wait for the division's landscape to change, or for 165 lbs division to be implemented. I want to see him back in there soon, but I don't believe it will happen.

Rematch with Iaquinta. Its been a long time. He may have improved. But I still thinmk Iaquinta dominates him again.

I don't know but I'd love to see Lee vs Ferguson 2 at some point.
