I really don't see a route of victory for Hermansson unless he has secret power we don't know about.

He isn't controlling Whittaker, let alone getting him down - Shahbazyan is poor at defending both.

But standing, there is such a wide depth of striking between the two. Hermansson is... not good, Whittaker has one of - if not - the best jabs in mma; really sharp footwork; more athletic and stronger; a lot more powerful; great fundamentals - the best boxer at middleweight; yes, I know Adesanya knocked him out, because Adesanya is more complete.

But really, how does Hermansson think he can win this? He was getting pieced up by Shahbazyan prior to getting taken down, but comparing Whittaker and Shahbazyan's ability to avoid getting taken down is almost criminal.

As we should, Whittaker is the former champion and has defeated most of the top contenders (except Costa) at middleweight without much trouble. Cannoneir is more dangerous than Hermansson and he got beaten up for 3 rounds.

As un-high level as Gastelum has always been, he is still a solid win for Whittaker and would probably clock Hermansson.

Learn what? Most people myself included tend to believe Whittaker would be a considerable favourite over Hermansson and agree that Whittaker is stylistically a nightmare match up for him, Hermansson's latest fight against Edmen only serves to reinforce that view. Hermansson was clearly losing the striking battle early against a guy who would get pieced up on the feet by the Reaper, and only found success on the ground, and by utilizing his superior cardio whilst Edmen wilted. Jack wouldn't be able to hold Whittaker down for any substantive length of time and the Reaper has got the cardio to go 5 hard rounds.

Speaking of learning however have you reached a stage where you're comfortable admitting that Mousasi lost to Lovato Jr? Or do you still need to go on about drugs, incompetent refereeing, how Mousasi forced him out of the sport etc?

See - this is the problem. MMA fans are the worst .They just talk about the past and ignore the fact of evolving fighters.

Gastelum looked like an alligator vs Robert. Range-alone -that was a very challenging fight for Kelvin. Robert is now a full grown middle and is one of 3 top middles( izz, gegard and whit).However , hes certainly beatable-lol.
We dont know where Jack stands at the moment .If Robert opened up a 4 or 5-1 favorite then I could see all this silly " herm doesn't have a chance " talk.

Understand my post. So Jack lost to Jared a handful a fights ago, Whitaker beat Jared ( who fractured his arm)and now joker is not only not allowed to call out Whitaker but his chances are next to impossible.

As for the Ngannou fight, congrats you got one right, pretty sure you said he'd beat Stipe the first time too though so eventually with enough guesses you were bound to get one correct one day.

As for your fighters evolving argument Hermannson's striking looked awful against Edmen, and he struggled against Marvin whilst Whittaker's arguably never looked better in his most recent outing with Gastelum. Is there a possibility that Hermansson could win, well yeah no shit it's a fight after all strange things can happen, most people are simply saying Whittaker would rightfully start as favourite and there's good reason to be confident in him should such match up ever eventuate.
