I was just watching Condit vs Woodley, and was just disappointed at how much of a hole that is in Carlos' game.

Anthony Pettis is another guy who is held back from greatness by that huge gap in his game. Makes me think to myself that these guys are actually ignoring this hole, as we've seen no improvements in that area over a period of many, many years.

So guys, who's your pick for the worst takedown defense in MMA?

Condit. Also for a wrestler DC has pretty pathetic take down defense, guy got taken down by a gassed Rumble.

DC recently said that a takedown doesn't mean shit if you can get back up right away and they don't do anything with it.

Lol at this thread u guys are morons.

Not in the UFC, but Alexander Volkov. Though his problem might come also from not being that massive for a heavyweight I guess.

DC says a lot of dumb shit.

He's right, it does absolutely nothing, unless the takedown is damaging the guy by slamming him hard. If you take a guy down but can't keep him down or do any damage on the ground then who cares about your takedown...

Condit is the man but his TD defense really is a huge hole in his game.

It breaks my fucking heart.

On the other hand, he's so good and active from his back that it almost doesn't matter.

Almost.

See Cruz vs. Dillashaw for an example of you being wrong.
