Who has had the most up and down career?

Bisping, although he was consistently top 10, he would rack up good wins then get beat, sometimes fairly easily and or brutally. Then has an upswing where he beats Anderson and even captures the belt. Then finishes by going life and death with 100 year old Hendo, and closes out his career by getting choked out by GSP and two weeks later KO’d by Gastelum

Robbie Lawler had one hell of an up and down career. He reached the heights of the sport and he had a lot of lows. Unlike most champions, his lows came before he got the belt more than after.

Jan is a solid example. Was 2-4 at one point in the UFC and ended up with the belt. Having a hard time of thinking of others that haven't been mentioned yet.

I'd agree with this. A kickboxer who had a degree of success, but then moved to MMA and immediately started fighting the very best. I don't think he had a winning record when he signed with the UFC, and he didn't retire with a winning record, either. But you look at who he faced, he did well for himself, and is undoubtedly a combat sports legend. He's an anomaly.
For sure. If I remember correctly the UFC didn’t even want him and he just kinda was grandfathered in after they bought PrideFC they wanted to buy him out of his contract and he said no let me bang mate! Love that man. Went from getting wrestlefucked by freaking Sean mccorkle (sean is awesome but cmon) to slaying giants for years.

People like to say Michael Johnson but its not close..more just bizarre. I got mir...From the huge upset freeman fight, simms stomps avenging that fight, to winning the title vs sylvia. To the brutal bike accident. Getting smashed by pe de pano to vera, to beating brock.. to beating nog, then losing to brock and carwin.. then going on a run to lose to jds for the belt. To beating crocop. Can anyone think of a more rollercoaster career.
Maybe randy?
Who do you have?
Tony Ferguson:
From a super nova hot 12 fight win streak to a liquid nitrogen cold 6 fight losing streak. And if he loses to Paddy, his losing streak will reach Sub Zero temperatures.

Man he never shoulda taken that fight with kelvin… would have been nice to see him take time to go out on a win but that’s the game we play…

I went from absolutely hating him after TUF vs Hendo to being a huge fan over the years. Loved it when he won the belt and just immediately starts flipping everyone off like he beat the game and the UFC cause he wasn’t supposed to win.

Also gotta mention and respect the fact that he was out there fighting with one freakin eye hiding it from the ufc doctors!

Yeah, they wanted no part of that record when he asked to fight. I always enjoyed how that situation played out, bc they did offer to buy him out and he made them honor the contract. And he ended up being somewhat of a star for them, with his HL reel and calling him "King of the Walk Offs" and whatnot.

I remember when he was subbed by McCorkle, and thinking, "Yikes." It was effortless. And I remember seeing training videos for those fights thereafter, and he was leaner (for him), in shape and taking it all seriously. Kinda inspiring. He put in the work, and now he will be remembered for years to come. His career had some good highs, and some pretty low lows, but it was a memorable one.

Here is the UFC doctor on his way to check out Bisping before the fight with Luke.......

Beat the very best, won titles in two weight classes, lost 8 consecutive fights in the UFC, got KOed in a parking lot by a fat guy.

Forrest Griffen gets my vote.
At his best he beat Shogun and Rampage back to back proving he had top 5 level skills with a well rounded skill set, great cardio, high durability and high level striking...... At his worst Griffen looked like a child against Silva, got finished by Keith Jardine and was arguably losing to Tito in Tito's worst years of his career.

Late career RDA. Had to leave lightweight after losing the belt, then to Tony. Made a solid run to the interim title at welterweight only to lose in a close decision to Colby. Traded wins and losses to solid competition at a 3-5 clip, only to return to lightweight where he went 2-1, then back to welterweight against Luque. My personal choice for the BMF as he’s fought a murderers row, and is always game to fight anyone on short notice. Massive hespec.

JDS has been all over the map. Late career resurgence etc. Arlovski?...

I wouldn't agree. He was top tier, the alpha dog, punch KOd everyone, grabbed the title. Then Cain demolished him twice. Then he went gradually from top 5 to losing more and more. Kind of a steep climb into gradual then complete fall.

Arlovskis career would be very up and down. How he came back from his big loss streak. Early ufc Champ. Def up and down
