Who has better BJJ?

Kimbo escaped the last choke he was put on...

Conor and Sage flash tapped

so im going with kimbo

northcutts bjj is legitimately embarrassing for a professional fighter (i know he is very young so im not gonna give him shit about it but that is the truth.) conor has not shown me anything in mma that makes me think his bjj is at a very low level and he's had some very good top control in certain fights and passing.

He shot in on a BJJ black belt, didn't even stay in his guard for more than a second, and got tapped out 3 seconds later. And you dont' think is BJJ is low level..?

Kimbo escaped a sunk in lock up rear naked choke. He literally just flexed his neck and popped Ken shamrocks geriatric arms right from around him.

Based off that alone I would have to say Kimbo

he was getting fucked up on the feet and shot a desperation double because he was lost. anyone who cant recognize that is blind and probably has never even taken a gloved punch before.

Say what you want about Northcutts pedestrian defense, he has a very good offensive thought. He has a good understanding of top position and knows timing to hit decent submissions.

Conor on the other hand has a very BASIC knowledge of BJJ. I'm gonna tell you why:

1. His guard is archaic... He employs a very outdated closed guard offering no offense but rather relying on stand ups or his opponent making a mistake to stand up.

2. His top game consists of nothing complex. He uses the same Knee Slice pass EVERY TIME he gets top position. That's literally one of the first passes you learn in BJJ. He panicked and attempted to jump straight into cross body on Diaz after the TD, but had his right leg caught and was SWEPT straight into mount where he offered ZERO resistance.

3. Conors been strangled more times than Michael Myers victims.

I appreciate his movement and elite counter punching BUT to defend his low level BJJ does nothing for the credibility of some posters on here.

Conor isn't even white belt level BJJ, no idea where he got his brown belt from but they should be shut down for it. His clip from going for the takedown to getting tapped out is a perfect video on what not to do against a black belt.
you've clearly never trained if you have this opinion. he did everything right escaping that guillotine, it's just diaz is better. add in punches/being rocked/being gassed and ANYbody can be subbed. lol at your last claim, actually that's EXACTLY how you chain a guillotine escape you noob...it's just once again, diaz is better

Yes... Yes I have, he should have circled away from Nate and used his Ido moving techniques to just dodge till the minute was over. I even understand shooting in and going into nates full guard to rest for the round. But saying he doesn't have shit BJJ when he literally got reversed and choked out 5 seconds after getting the takedown is retarded. How you go from being in someones full guard to getting reverse fully mounted to giving up your back in seconds and denying your bjj isn't atrocious... Just lol

How did he do everything right when he was in nates full guard, why not just rest like wrestlers do and stop any arm bar or sweep attempts? Instead he gets swept mounted nailed with some punches and gives his neck up like a fucking retard then choked out.

he was never in his closed guard during that sequence. as diaz started sweeping with guillotine control, it gave conor opportunity to then gator roll to escape the guillotine, because he was stuck in half guard and couldn't get passed diaz leg. if he had stayed there, diaz switched the grip and conor was being choked from diaz half guard...

yes, conor did not play enough touch butt in preparation for this fight. Haha, but seriously though, i do agree with you here. he should have fuckin backpedaled like was kaleb fuckin starnes. i think his pride got in the way of that he just didnt have the flight instincts that might have helped him after getting rocked and being tired

i hate this quote because its used so damn often that its boring, but a black belt gets hit, he becomes a brown, etc. etc. etc. I'm a blue belt and ive tapped multiple browns because they were tired. its not a reflection of their technique, or even their technique relative to mine. add in some brain jarring punches to that, and it really means nothing.

did he get subbed by guillotine? no? then he did everything right. tried to pass to opposite side, get's trapped in half guard, so front/gator rolls out of it as diaz sweeps. diaz is just better and was able to grab an underhook as conor rolled, preventing him from getting to his knees

His guard and gnp defense against mendes did not look very good. i can agree with that. doesnt change the fact that i think technically he would wreck northcutt on the ground, top or bottom.

if his knee slice pass works, why stop? marcelo garcia rncs and guillotines like everytime! hes so basic!

there's nothing wrong with having basic bjj. go tell roger gracie he needs to work berimbolo into his game.

i really feel like the nate diaz fight says very little about conors ground game. the mendes fight was way more telling imo. but even if you were trying to judge him on the nate fight compared to northcutt, lets not forget we're talking about conor vs a very legit black belt whereas northcutt just got arm triangled in half guard by... cant remember his name.

you're right, he didnt get subbed by guillotine, instead he tapped faster than ive ever seen any fighter tap to a RNC after giving up his back faster than ive ever seen any fighter give up their back

Gets my vote.

Nate sits down on his but and literally lets conor reverse it, he knew he would fuck him up off the ground, what does this show..? That Nate wanted to take it to the ground? lol.

you literally have no idea what youre talking about. yeah nate ran the pipe on a single because he wanted to be on the bottom? youre a moron. conor threatened him with a straight ankle lock then picked the opposite angle to force him to give up position.
