Who had the worst fight of the year?

I think Izzy's performance vs yoel was the worst ever by a champ during a championship fight. Atleast Anderson did some flashy shit vs Maia lol

Probably Waterson vs Esparza in terms of boredom.

Izzy vs Romero in terms of disappointment.

Worst performance: Cowboy (vs Conor) and Woodley (both fights)

Worst year: JDS...

Only WMMA fight that wasn't garbage was Zhang vs Joana.

So the worst fights of the year were every women's fight minus that one.

End of thread.

Let's be fair, there probably have been 2 other okish fights. Not that I have seen them, but I'm pretty sure.

The battle cry of the modern millenial soy boy.
How is saying idiotic stuff to irritate others an accomplishment again? I guess you effeminate types have to take victories where you can get them

Seriously gotten to!

Figueiredo vs moreno was foty for me.

The fact it was on 3 weeks notice was nuts.

Don't understand why people loved the Zhang fight so much from round 3 onwards it was jsut Zhang beating the shit out of Joanna.
Right on, both guys left it in the Octagon...

I have this theory on the Weili v. JJ fight, it was a great fight, don’t get me wrong, both gals are highly skilled and came to bang, the fight definitely delivered and then some.... however, the the following fight (main event) which was highly anticipated absolutely fell on its face, and ended up being so atrocious that it had an amplification effect on how people perceive the quality of the prior WSW Title fight.

Man. There were a LOT of bad matchups. Jessica Eye should get the win just for her miserable attempt to have the crowd cheer for her though.

This one is easy for me. The Adesanya-Romero fight looked great on paper, turned out a huge, boring disappointment. Plus it was a PPV fight on top of that! Snoozefest

100% everyone got so excited for the main event because it was a great co and when that stunk it up everyone was going fuck that sucked thank God for the co main.

Hell half of sherdog that day would tell u wmma > mma

So many women’s fights are just so horrific. That’s not comparable to Yoel and adasanya.

Finally got some friends to watch a fight with me, figuring nothing would be crazier than Izzy / Romero.

They've never watched another

Usman v Masvidal, at least in Izzy V Romero we saw Yoel land one clean bomb

That is why Zhang-Jedrzejczyk is Fight of the Year. Even if you think another fight is better, the historical significance of two women having a war like that right before one of the worst title fights in history cannot be understated.

How many thousands or even millions of people became aware of what WMMA can be, and started to pay attention to what it is?

That fight converted so many new fans, and changed the conversation.

Fight of the Year 2020 is without question Zhang Weili vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
