"There are five rounds in a fight. Who gives a shit if you won a round?" -Nate

This is a great point that I never thought about. Conor fans will point to the first round and a half to show that conor was winning, but if Nate proceeded to win four straight rounds would anyone care about the first round?

The reason Conor was winning most the fight was because the moment Nate got the upper hand, he put Conor away, shortening the fight.

this. no doubt nate was going to clear the rest of the rounds. 4-1 if by a long shot conor managed to last.

Conor definitely won the round but it wasn't a white wash like most ppl make it out to be

& he was never in trouble or hurt

Meh, nate won the fight. He should bask in his glory instead of sookin.

You never thought of that? It's extremely obvious.

Conor would never make it pass 4 rounds. He would leave on a stretcher, Dada 5000 style.

If a runner runs full speed against marathon runners, he'll win the first mile of the race. It's Conor's fault for not looking into Nate's losses and realizing that the guy doesn't get knocked out. When you fight a Diaz, prepare for a long fight.

Winning rounds means nothing if you get finished.

I'm sure Conor knew Nate had a good chin. The thing is, Conor hits freaking hard. Nate and Nick have eaten some disgusting shots and eventually their chins are going to break. Conor has deaded people with less than what he hit Nate with. I can't really blame him for believing he could KO him.

Conor couldn't hang with nate for 5 rounds.

Conor-1 round.

Nate Diaz- 2,3,4,5 rounds since he finished him in the 2nd.

The only reason Conor was having success in the first round was because he was fighting at an unsustainable pace. He was desperate to win every exchange and thus gassed himself out with inefficient movement and tense strikes. It was inevitable Diaz would start landing and turn up the pressure. I couldn't even picture Conor lasting one more round if he made it out of the 2nd, much less a whole 5 round fight.

Considering how battered Nate was, I think it was significant... It showed me that Conor is indeed damn accurate even against rangy guys... I liked what I saw in the first, Nate just has an immaculate chin. I would kill for his chin.

Conor lost because he gassed hard. He punched himself out... The second he couldn't move away from Nates punches in time, Nate found the mark repeatedly. He got McG good and dominated him at the end.

I've been tapped by far inferior people due to exhaustion... So conor getting tapped by a superior BJJ guy doesn't surprise me.
The second McGregor had the first couple exchanges in rd 2 I knew it was over

Who would have won the fight if neither fighter gassed and they both fought their fight? I don't see it Nate Diaz 4-1 unless Conor already gassed and was just trying to survive.

Chael won 4.5...just sayin..

Yes, Conor won the first round, and yes Nate won the figh. And that is all that matters.
