affected Jones, and that's the real reason why he didn't look as amazing ad he usually does. I just think it had yo do with him having such a drastic change in his opponents body type compared to DC, and how OSP is unorthodox, and is a harder hitter, and can KO you anytime, compared to DC's more measured and grinding style.

I persoanlly think he looked better than ever, physically, but just hesitant, because his team had less time to come up with the perfect game plan for him, and the fact that OSP can knock you out from a lot more angles, and at any time if you're not on point.

In don't see the difference between what Floy Mayweathor usually does, and what Jon did in his last fight. He did just enough to win against a guy that can knock you out ay any second, so win comfortably, while not giving your opponent a chance to knock you out.

A more, play it safe style win, if you will. Just win the fight, take as little damage as possible, and save your body for the DC fight.

Plus, it was his first fight back. Of course he's gonna have a few jitters, and not wanna make any mistakes, at all, and suffer an upset. To me, felt more like a guy that just wanted to go a good 5 rounds, and feel the cage and the crow for the first time in a long while.

I honestly think he struggles with guys close to his own height. His entire game is about being bigger and longer. OSP is a big long dude. With that said DC is a short dude and won't win.

I think he looked very average. Bring that shit against DC and you're going to have a bad night.

My take on Jones these days is that he can whoop anyone in the division without taking any significant risks, so that's what he's doing. I expect him to decision DC and stay in GSP retain the belt mode until retirement

I got that sense in the OSP fight, but I hope this isn't a trend. It wasn't just the winning that makes JJ the best fighter on the planet, and potentially the GOAT. It was how dominant he was, while also putting some serious damage on you, and not being afraid to get into a dog fight with you.

And one last thing. I know I'm hi jakcing my own thread, but remember, OSP isn't a slow footed slugger that telegrpahs, and throws slow looping punches. The guy is a serious athlete, and throws his punches with extremely high velocity, so you gotta be on point in every position your in, or how you move, so you gotta be extra careful, compared yo a guy that plods, and strikes slower.

And sorry for my grammatical errors. On my dumb ass phone.

I think Jones is the best fighter on the planet, but I think the Gus fight changed him the way the Serra fight changed GSP. Hope I'm proven to be very wrong at 200

I don't think he was as motivated to fight OSP.

He put it on DC, and was ready for war against DC, so I'll still give him the benefit of the doubt for now. Although, DC forces you to fight back, so you might be right.

OK, last thing. Jones looks freaky strong, and I incredibly explosive and strong in this one, compared to a lot of his previous fights post Shogun fight.

I think DC's gonna be in for a rude awakening, and might get hurt even worse in the rematch. He looks freaky strong in the clinch for this fight. And I'm rooting for DC, and still think he can pull it off, but man, physically, Jones is gonna surprise DC with his new lifitng weight.

Bingo. OSP's striking technique is VERY limited, yet Jones looked a bit lost in terms of finding openings and letting his hands go. He had the same issue with Gus - difference being that Gus has the skillset to take advantage and inflict damage, whereas OSP does not. Jones simply has problems with tall, long fighters.
