Who else thinks that Meerschaert/Reinier could be an absolute banger?

Definitely the fight I'm looking forward to most this weekend.

WAR GM3, although I'll be happy to just get an exciting fight out of this one anywhichway.
Should be fun standing and or in the ground sir.
Im actually looking forward to this one.

Should be a great grappling match. Someone has a prophetic dream and predicted Meerschart by sub. Or asked their AI, I don't recall.

It's probably the fight I'm most interested in on this card, since Cody cancelled. Card is pretty weak now.

I'm not convinced RDR is going to have a ton of success in the UFC. This is about the least hyped I've ever been for a champ (double champ, no less) from elsewhere crossing over. His striking is downright awful. He's gonna have a really interesting fight with Paul Craig, though.
He has nasty knees in the clinch but I agree his hands are awful and his kicks aren’t great either.

You are right, and I will give him that, and had considered that after I made my post, but I am glad people understand the context. In open space it's pretty bad

I *suspect* that Gerald might drop him in a later round, as despite his lethargic, slow striking, he somehow has some pop, and has caught and dropped some people (lol and then of course subs them).

I'd be really surprised if one *really* outgrappled the other.

Could be fun, but I think there is a pretty significant talent gap. GM3 might pull off the upset but he'll likely have to hope RDR gasses.

We’re either in for a real good grappling match or some slap boxing

Yup my fear exac-....erhem, I mean yes, that's part of the intrigue my good sir!
RDR should be able to shut him down imo. GM3 is more of an opportunistic grappler who snaps things up against guys who are less good at BJJ than him.

That's one of my fears. GM3 has great grappling, but he's catching people significantly worse than him, and he seems sloppy everywhere (part of the charm ;).

I don't think Reinier is going to slip up or get lost in a scramble. . . .although I could see him getting dropped and then subbed.

I just hope this isn't a snooze-fest, as it has lots of potential.

All this. Although I'm predicting they both gas, per usual I hope/think GM3 somehow comes back with a bomb and then a sub.

It's a tough fight to call. I think Gerald is tough enough on the ground to survive, but I'd give an edge to RDR in the grappling and clinch striking. He's gonna be looking for that clinch quickly, bc Gerald will crack him in open space. Gerald is a gatekeeper, but I don't say that as a diss, he's a tough first test and he's decently well rounded. Should be a good one.
