Who earns more respect Conor or Jones?

After all the shenanigans who earns your respect more and why??

My thoughts (aka don’t read)

I’d have to say Conor in my opinion even though he never defended. He has been an embarrassment of our sport at times, but in a lesser sense than jones I feel. I loved watching JBJ rise through the rankings and become champ and defending. After believing him for many years I’ve finally given up. Overall respect to both but Conor has gained more I feel.

What do you mean by earns more respect? Respect in what? Respect in his career? I have more respect in Conor's career because he wasn't a drug cheat, took on a wrestler that was a nightmare matchup for him on short notice and won. Went up against a champion that didn't lose in 10 years and won in 12 seconds. Followed that up by going up a weight class to take on a champion and won, holding 2 UFC belts at the same time. How many people have done that? Also took on the greatest boxer of all time and took several rounds from him.


Jones didn't even believe in himself to go up a weight class on steroids and had to use steroids and eye gauges to beat washed up fighters in a division where he had a massive size advantage on everyone except for the guy that arguably beat him and was too much of a pussy to fight freaking Chael on short notice. Jones is a pussy that is afraid to lose and doesn't believe in himself.

Jones for skill set, fight IQ especially under pressure, beating others at their own game.

Conor for business sense, managed his career perfectly for himself, striking and trash talking.

Will always be a fan of Jones and loved watching his fights. He cheated but that doesn’t make you a champion otherwise all those that use enhancements would be, it takes much more. Conor I feel still has more to prove in the fight game though that doesn’t lessen the respect in the above areas.

Very well said. I’ve been so offended by jones’s ways but will always love watching him fight.
