So he beat Faber with ease. Who do you want to see him defend against next? Looking at the rankings there are 5 realistic options.
 
I'd rather see fresh faces, so voted McDonald-Lineker winner.
 
Doesn't matter.

Cruz is the fucking GOAT. He wrecks that entire list 50-45 and he'd spank Aldo, Connor and Edgar if he moved up too.
 
TJ/Assuncao winner but if Assuncao wins i wouldn't give him a title shot.

Lol. Good point. Still though, the man's skill and achievements can't be denied. I seriously can't see anyone at BW winning more than a round against him.

I thought TJ might've in a rematch, but Cruz hasn't missed a beat. He's just better and better. He'd make TJ look easy in a rematch.

He darts around, throws irritating punches, and gets little surprise TD's for no other reason than to try to win a 10-9 round.
Hate his fights.

It's weird. I definitely don't have the same disdain that many have for the lower weight classes but Cruz just really bores him/ Admittedly he did drop Faber today but as you said, he throws little pitter patter punches and goes for takedowns without even keeping his opponent on the mat.

49-46 though, no doubt.

The FWs would be easy too. Mcregor would tire after hitting air for a whole first round. Cruz would maul him on the mat.

Aldo would be a fun fight, but Cruz is just way too crafty for Aldo.

Edgar would keep it interesting for 5 rounds due to his cardio, but he's not on Cruz's level, neither in the striking or the wrestling.

I hate Cruz fights, but Edgar Cruz may be fun, the technical footwork of both might make it a little "sparkier" than usual for Cruz, but I disagree on your analysis of the end result. I think Edgar would put Cruz away. I also think Aldo would as well... No one is too crafty for that leg kicking SOB... And at 145 I do agree, Conor wouldn't be able to keep up long enough to damage him.

Yeah, look, I'm a massive Edgar fan. Always have been. I just don't see him being good enough with his hands to handle Cruz. I love Edgar's boxing, but he's short and just wouldn't be able to put hands on Cruz I don't think. Still one of my dream fights though.

As for Aldo. He ain't a leg kicking SOB anymore, man, let's be honest. I used to cringe back when he used to dig em in. That Faber fight where he chewed that leg up was awesome.

Thing is Aldo barely uses the kicks anymore. Hardly used them against Chad. That might have been out of fear of the takedown, but that fear would still be there for as good as Chad is as a wrestler, I think Cruz is better.

He won via split decision against TJ, but it was actually a loss.

Stop just stop, Cruz gets slept by all three thats all you need to know, there is weight divisions for a reason.
