1. Free solo climbers like Alex Honnold. One mistake=certain, guaranteed absolute death

2. Isle Of Man TT riders. 200+mph inches away from concrete walls and buildings. One mistake is likely death. Something like 12 participants die each year.

3. Soldiers. Maybe not as ballsy a profession as it was at a time but at any moment we could go to war and you may be on the frontlines being shot at.

4. Professional fighters. May not die but will likely get a measurable amount of life changing CTE in the name of glory and money.

5. Other? Please state

Special forces and it isn't even close, these guys do things off the grid, no back up, no fame, no one even knows they are doing it, behind enemy lines and in a team of like 4 guys.

They have a huge chance of dying and failing their missions but they do them without hesitation and they dedicate their entire lives to being the perfect killing machine, the ultimate soldiers.

They make MMA fighters, boxers, whatever you want look like pansies.

SAS, Seal Team 6 etc. They are THE guys.

You know you are a badass when the world isn't allowed to see you face.

Any time you see shit like bystanders pulling suicidal people off bridges or stopping a mugging or rescuing people from some natural disaster etc, etc. Those people to me are the bravest of the brave. To be an ordinary person and drop what youre doing to save a complete stranger takes all kinds of cajones.

They have a 99% chance of dying and failing their missions but they do them without hesitation and they dedicate their entire lives to being the perfect killing machine, the ultimate soldiers.

99% chance of dying you say??? So for every 100 that go on a mission only one could mesnback alive??? Damn....

That math seems fuzzy

But you know what I mean, I cannot imagine being dropped from a plane into the places they do with knowing the fact no one is coming to help you if things go wrong and things are very likely to go wrong.

The story of Lone Survivor and the Seals that went through it is probably the bravest and most unbelievable thing i've ever read.

Firefighters, especially hot shots.

The lone survivor story is BS and so is American Sniper.

I mean is it really 99% chance of dying? I respect what they do and they are with out a doubt 100% badass. But they have eachother to watch eachother back and try to survive when shit hits the fan. If Alex Honnold makes literally one mistake, if one finger has just a little bit too much sweat on it, or if the wind just happens to pick up suddenly unexpectedly he is 1000% guaranteed dead. He stares death in the face and doesn't flinch. He blurs the line of brave and downright suicidal.

An off day at work for him or the TT riders has fatal consequences

Yeah. It it seems like with the thousands of covert operations that have gone down and we only hear about 1 gone wrong (the lone survivor thing) it actually seems real sticky safe. Meticulous planning, training, combat control, intel, superior firepower and tons of support.

Not saying it isn’t dangerous and from time to time we hear about special forces guys dying but that seems like a relitevky low number given the amount of operators out there these days.

Yeah I changed because it wasn't literally 99% chance but you get it.

Yeah rock climbing is crazy as is the Isle of man TT, but what is realer than combat?

Dying is a treat for a Special Forces guy, it's getting captured that is the fear.

True but that is basing this off of just deaths, I know i'd rather climb a mountain for instance than go on a behind enemy lines mission for who knows how long.

Things going wrong is low but when it does happen, jeez, things get bad.

That is a good answer, I should have added that to my list. Those guys deserve all the respect in the world. Especially the ones that are willing to go in for someones pet even when all the humans are safe.

Yea man, if it was me I would for sure save a bullet for myself. Fuck getting captured.

I'm not necessarily the most patriotic person in the world but I LOVE our military. Put our best guys vs any other country and my money is on us getting the W by any means necessary.
