Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, told the Journal on Thursday that Tate was presented with the chance to face Holm again at UFC 200, the promotion’s bicentennial event on July 9, but the new bantamweight queen chose to face Amanda Nunes instead. Holly's manager quotes Lorenzo Fertitta as his source.

TATE SIDE:
Tate said that when she met with UFC executives this past week in Las Vegas to discuss her first title defense, it wasn’t Rousey or Holm that led the conversation. While she was open to facing any opponent the promotion proposed for her, the UFC brass had another name in mind: Amanda Nunes (11-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC). Tate does not quote any source specifically.

Personally, I cannot imagine Zuffa giving a new champ that power (to decide fights).
I also find it tough to believe that Zuffa would reward Holly's camp with an immediate title shot, a week after turning down Cyborg.
Not that HH should be forced to fight at 140, but Zuffa rarely reward turning down a big fight with an even bigger one.

Honestly Holm doesn't deserve the rematch right now. Of course UFC have been giving them out like candy, but she didn't defend even once and was finished decisively.

Even before Tate's side responded, a lot thought that Holly's side was incorrect.
Makes no sense to give Tate the power others don't

Fresquez needs people to believe that he was in negotiations with the UFC for an immediate title rematch for Holm at UFC 200 because that's the excuse they are giving for ducking Cris Cyborg at catchweight for UFC 198 after bragging to the entire world just months earlier that they would do that fight. Miesha Tate is entirely blameless and is being smeared. The UFC told her who they want her to fight at UFC 200 and she agreed to the fight.
