Who do we have to blame for Panda Express’s existence?

I am extremely curious as to what kinds of Chinese restaurants people have been going to in major cities that they would still rate Panda Express as the best Chinese food they've had.

They used to be a staple in every mall in America which is how they got so popular, thats understandable, but now that malls are dead i guess its just brand recognition that has allowed to continue to thrive on their own cause its definitely not the food

Any form of meat should not be sweet. It’s meant to be savory. Americans love candy meat. Orange Chicken/Walnut Shrimp/Beijing Beef is covered in sugar and MSG.

Actually you should blame Chinese restaurant owners.

Generally speaking as a group they are extremely cheap and think Americans are way too uptight about hygiene.

So the quality of their food declined over the years until there were hardly any quality Chinese restaurants anymore. This opened the door for panda Express.

Say what you want, but at least they use fresh veggies and a relatively clean cooking environment.

This is enough to beat most Chinese restaurants.

Now there are tons of quality thai restaurants out there so I'll usually just go to one of those instead.

Who are these people that said its the best Chinese food they’ve ever had? I’ve never heard anyone say that.

The same type of Americans that think Olive Garden is fantastic Italian food.

I've never even seen a Panda Express in real life.

Google says the closest one to me is 7.1 miles away in Hamilton, NJ.

Pass.

Someone said it in a thread right here in the Mayberry a few weeks back, I dont remember the thread it was in or the not genius that said it though, he mighta been working, who knows

The value is good and the food is fresh good quality. Not every panda is consistent though. There is one by my work this Asian lady manages and I can tell she gives it her all. She has the place clean and the food is always consistently delicious.

I have only been to 2 Chinese food restaurants that beat panda express but they cost some dough.

Deep south Sf bay area/ Santa Cruz

The only fast food I eat is In and Out, Chick-fil-A, and panda

The best Chinese restaurants are the hole in the wall mom and pop places outside of military bases. But Panda Express ain't bad.
Nope. I'm an army brat and a navy vet, and neither of those gave me access to good Chinese food. Korean food, sure. Japanese food, absolutely. But as far as good, authentic, regional Chinese food, I always had to make an effort to hunt it down. I mean, when I was stationed in San Diego, there was plenty of good Sichuanese, Hunanese, and Cantonese food available, but I think that was just a function of being in southern California rather than being in the navy.
