My guess is that it is Cruz.
1. Very poor performance in "purple" states (e.g. Virginia) with the exception of the Iowa caucuses where he worked his ass off to get a small group of hard core supporters to show up.
2. No real cross-over appeal to independents or Reagan Democrats.
3. Nagging eligibility issue.
4. Sets up Hillary to try to steal some moderate Republican votes (Cruz is the only candidate the moderate Republicans may hate more than Trump).

On the other hand, he is a formidable debater and would score points one-on-one against Hillary in a debate.

Trump all day in my opinion. Hillary destroys either but she would eviscerate Trump in a way the debate stage has never seen. She is a 10 as a debater and he would resort to personal attacks (which republicans would love) but the national audience would find it deplorable and she would win in a landslide

And your last point is also a reason why. Cruz is a good debater and is a smart guy. Trump is a horrendous debater and the jury is still out on how smart he is

The danger is that Trump has crossover appeal to independents and even some Reagan Democrats. I am a Reagan Democrat and I would be more likely to vote for Trump than for Cruz.
On the other hand, Cruz is clearly the better debater and might do better among Hispanics.
I think that they may be a little more scared that something unpredictable could happen with Trump while Cruz is more of a known quantity.

True. I just think that a large % of the population would never vote for Trump. Cruz could sway some voters and most republicans I think would vote for him where many republicans could never vote for Trump.

I don't want cruz to even be that close to the presidency, so anyone else.

If you go by the polls, they want to run against Trump.

She is a 10 as a debater
Lmao. You really think that?

And on another note. Who could possibly want Cruz to win. At this point I'd be for anyone but Cruz to Win and i'm happy. A guy willing to take your public lands away. Your land. Hand it over to the states to be bidded off to big corporations to destroy or exploit. What a world that would be.

You have to be kidding me? She's a clever woman and politically able but when the point of the debate is to come off in a manner that appeals to the masses, to draw them to your side, she leaves debates with a host of statements and gaffes that the public picks up on and turn into self-perpetuating viral smear campaigns. Every morning after she talks I see a host of memes and quotes which people are denouncing her over. Simply put, with the intent of these debates being to win people over she's anything but a 10, despite her cleverness.

Cruz easily. He has zero appeal outside of conservative wingnuts and he gives off that sociopath vibe.

Unquestionably, it's Trump.

He's the only politician that has ever had higher negatives than she has, since they've been polling negative opinion ratings in the mid-80s.

Polls say Cruz fairs better against Clinton than Trump

The Hillary camp would hammer down the Nazi comparisons until November

I am not sure about "sociopath" but he looks like the landlord who is trying to evict you for having a pet or a douchebag bill collector who calls you at work or maybe some fuck who is giving you a parking ticket. He just doesn't look like the kind of dude you might like to have a beer with.

I would say Cruz or Trump. Like someone else said, Trump's support is more unpredictable. He could get absolutely crushed or he could surprise. I would feel more confident that the American people would reject Cruz. On the other hand, because you really never know, I think the fact that Trump would be a better president if he won than Cruz should come into play.

Any biased webpage is going to have these. Not exactly convincing evidence of her debate skills

Tough call. I'd pick Cruz as the weaker target. He's got no chance in purple states and very little support from his own party. His best bet is to have the debate of a life time against Hillary, in which case, Hillary's strategy is going to be to keep the number of debates to a minimum. As long as she doesn't do too badly, even if she loses a debate or 2, it shouldn't be enough to sway the hearts and minds. Then again, he's a master strategist. He probably has a top secret plan to win the election if he somehow wins the primary. And even if he loses the general, he probably has a realistic plan for how he's going to win 2020 at this point. You really can't count him out.

Dems seem to think that HIlary is going to destroy whoever, don't really see how that's even possible considering Republicans are setting record numbers of votes at every primary and Dems are down from '12 and wayyyyy down from '08. But whatever

Another factor. Trump may be able to do an Etch-A-Sketch after getting the nomination and move to the center on some of his positions. He seems to be able to get away with this and he is not really ideologically anchored. I think it would be harder for Cruz to move to the center (even if he wanted to do so).

Cruz, he will play politics like she does. Trump is a mad men who's hard to deal with. Shes quite dirty and Trump will bring it all up.

That's a tough call and actually a good sign for republicans I am thinking. Meaning both Cruz and Trump have a decent shot. (Even though I am not a fan of either.)

Hillary's whole strategy is piggybacking on Obama supporters and using the female card to the White House. That alone will get Trump and possibly Cruz spite votes.
