Who did Alan Belcher hire to help with leg lock defense?

Daniel Moraes and Diego Moraes were taking care of his leg lock defense in camp at the time (some help from Mikey Triangles). I know because I was there for a week doing rounds with Alan. He went to Brazil and Biloxi and Jacksonville FL during camp for Palhares.
Did you fight Platinum Perry twice 🤔 ?

I also liked Marquardt's approach to the Paul Harris problem:

Lost this one by misunderstanding. Phalhares was weird. He wanted a time out cause he thought Nate greased his legs. Back than grease storys existed. Nate didn't stop and tkod him. After the fight Phalhares checked his leg and concluded himself there was no greasing. Made a mental mistake that lost him the fight

I like to think Nate would have finished him anyway, but Nate is my favorite hot/cold fighter, so there's that.

Nate was a stable top 10 than. Anderson was first by far. Rest were Chael Maia Okami and Nate in the division. Also Bisping. Before the whole next gen came. I think Vitor was at LHW than. Leites was also borderline ranked. Nate just got okd overnight at one point and lost most after the over the hill moment. Best moment was when he KTFOd Tyrone right before he became a contender and champ. That was a crazy elbow combo.

I completely forgot that Nate dropped to WW when he went to SF. He won a title and garnered arguably his best highlight reel KO, but the rest of his WW run didn't go so well. Dude for sure had a lot of miles by the time he made it back to UFC. War Nate.

We've seen 24-0. At most. Someone go out like that. Ok Fedor fans he was what 30-1 with the 1 illegal cut should been Nc. Nate hat like 55 fights. Definitely gonna get losses and fade away if you fight till the end of your energies. I mean Fedor acumulated losses later too. Guys look worse in hindsight record wise if they have 40-50 fights and keep fighting as long as they can make bank. But when you seen their prime you know the last years are always gonna be a lot of losses. Mirko went out on 10 wins but he tonned down the strength of competition, very good matches but not fighting the ranked UFC guys who make a name of the previous generation. Nate was top 10 for a good while in the UFC.

Love this fight! I remember watching it live. Was rooting for Belcher all the way and was at the edge of my seat once it hit the mat, pretty sure that he would get submitted like so many others before him. But he impressed the hell out of me with his defense and just being completely confident on the ground. Great rewatch of a very memorable fight!

"get outta there alan" - coach of the year

That was awesome. Belcher beat sexyama too IMO.

Nate was rather top5 for a good while in UFC. He fought in 4 different UFC tittle eliminators and also fought for the belt. Thats rather a top5 contender than just top10

Yeah. Chael Nate Demian Okami Anderson.

For those that don't know, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community used to HATE leg locks, it was considered "trash technique"

Dean Lister pretty much single handedly made them cool, long ago.

Another related factoid:
Murilo Bustamante was Paul Harris's instructor, Bustamante kicked Palhares out of his gym.
