They only have one common opponent, Jacare.

Whose last 10 fights are better?

Styles make fights and Gas is a horrible match up for Whitaker.

Gas has an iron chin and hits just as hard yoel.

Gastelum puts Whitaker to sleep

Kelvins: realistically Whittaker has only one compelety legitimate win that's impressive in jacare. First yoel fight could have gone either way and imo he pretty clearly lost this one but the UFC knows the mess that would cause.

Kelvin: has beat 3 former champs in there including Belfort who's a top 15 goat although he was old: people forget that whittakers never beat a UFC champion

The first fight was super clear. In what way did Romero win it? Not a single pundit has ever tried to argue Romero could have got the first fight?

Nobody in UFC history has beaten Romero aside from Rob, who has done it twice. I'll take those two results and put them against any result against a washed up half blind Bisping or non TST Belfort. Hell even if Rob lost today I'd say it was a better performance than anything Kelvin has done.

So?

Style make fights kid.

You think Whitaker is gonna wrestle Gastelum? Lol

Whitaker will stand with Gas and get knocked out mark my words.

Yes the guy who survived clean punches from Romero, and a clean Uriah Hall headkick is going to get knocked out by a fat welterweight.

If Kelvin Gastelum knocks out Robert Whittaker I will eat my own shit on camera and post it on r/mma.

Gastelum has the better record, with the exception of Whitaker's victories over Romero. Whitaker would beat Gastelum in a fight, though.

Prepare to eat you’re own shiit then.

You’re acting like Gas isn’t a hitter lol

You can say shiit like that about a featherfisted journeyman like bisping but Gastelum cracks as hard as Yoel dumbasss.

So again prepare to eat you’re own shiit you nasty fuuuxk

Gastelum is a good MMA wrestler but he's not Romero, not in any capacity. Whittaker is not gonna have to worry about that kind of takedown and clinch ability or physicality when he's in the stand up with Gastelum. Therefore, he can rely more safely on his vastly improving MMA boxing, kickboxing and Octagon movement to outwork Gastelum. He's gotten to the point where he was looking to compete in amateur wrestling (and may have ended up doing so if it didn't interfere with UFC obligations). At this point he may even be able to use wrestling skills to his advantage in the standup vs Gastelum.

The problem is that while Hendricks, Belfort, Bisping, Kennedy, Marquardt and Ellenberger are good names. Not a single one of them was in their prime.

Hendricks was post usada washed up and nearly out the door. Belfort was a washed up can. Bisping was coming off a loss on three weeks notice and half blind/washed up, Kennedy hadn't fought anyone in like three years, Marquardt was washed up and Ellenberger was washed up. They tried to serve him up another washed up fighter in Weidman but Weidman actually had enough in the tank to survive and finish the fight. Even Jacare is old as fuck now and arguably had the dick. The only young and prime fighters he has fought in his past ten fighters were Magny and Woodley and he got beat both times. Gastelum is the biggest unknown quantity in the UFC because he has made his name bashing up washed up has beens.

Have you idiots even seen Gastelum fight? Wow

Gastelum hits harder than Whitaker and has a fuucking granit chin, it’s a horrible match up for Whitaker.

Gastelum lays him out cold

1st fight: yoel wins first 2 rounds, one later round nothing really happens
2nd fight: wins 3 and 5(somehow doesn't get a 10-8 even though they are supposed to be way easier to get, strange isn't it?) has the only significant moment of round 4 when whittaker stanky legs. Pretty clearly lost or draw at the very very least, but the UFC being what it is knows that this will be a mess and have an illegitimate champ in an already messed up division.

Also can't really say it cause he didn't fight them anything can happen, I mean vitor was actually landing on kelvin and seemed faster it was just chin/ slow reflexes defensively. Once again though, Whittaker has never fought a true champ which is a big deal

Robert Whittaker is not a washed up or never was like literally every fighter Kelvin has ever beaten. He has zero wins over top guys in their prime.

Gastelum would be brutally shocked by Whittaker. He's not used to fighting guys in their prime let alone champions.

I would have agreed with you but damn... it's not like it's completely impossible. And that promise...
