Whittaker is the prototype of today's guys. He's got good footwork and he's fast but his actual core striking and his core ground game are not good. He's low on skill but high on strategy and tactics. He'll watch 50 hours of tape on someone and come up with the perfect tactic to beat the guy.
Guys in the past were the complete opposite. World class wrestling. Or world class striking. But absolutely no tactics. No strategy. They just went in there without even knowing who they were fighting. It was a different kind of fighting for a different kind of fighter.
Now who could win in those kinds of fights?
