Very strange that Romero is a 2-1 underdog to Whitaker. Romero lost a close fight by the judges' scorecard, all three 47-48. Romero always has a puncher's chance and is coming of a KO of Rockhold.

Whitaker is coming off serious health issues (hamstring, abscess infection, torn MCL).

Seems like a pick'em fight to me. I'd bet on Romero because of the odds.

I think Whittaker takes it, but I expect Romero to bring his A game. Especially if Robert is healthy and no leg injury, I could see him finishing Romero in the 4th.

I agree but the rematch is happening way too soon for it to feel that way. There’s very little hype for this fight beyond the most hardcore fans. And both these guys are in a weight class and have fighting styles that could draw in the masses if promoted right. But Whitaker hasn’t done anything since pulling off a 3/2 decision against Romero. And Romero’s had just one win since. Both should have been taking other fights and building back up to a big clash. Immediate rematches only work when the fighter that lost was a long-standing champion, and now we want to see if it was a fluke and if he/she can get the belt back.
